Good coaching should leave you with more than a list of directions.

You should begin understanding why decisions are being made.

Why the plan changed.

Why today is different from yesterday.

Why more is appropriate sometimes and less is appropriate at others.

Sometimes you need someone to ask more of you.

Sometimes you need someone experienced enough to recognize that asking for more would be the wrong move.

That distinction matters.

Accountability does not always mean pushing harder.

It can mean recovering when your instinct is to prove something.

Correcting technique instead of adding weight.

Keeping the commitment you made.

Or finally confronting the pattern you keep explaining away.
