Time in the Intensive Care Unit is often filled with moments of uncertainty. As one patient shared, an attentive and compassionate caregiver like Penn Medicine Doylestown Hospital nurse Bridget Nicoletti, can make all the difference.

"During one of the most frightening experiences of my life, Bridget made me feel safe, cared for, and genuinely seen," they said. "When I developed a headache, she immediately arranged for another scan, giving me tremendous peace of mind. Bridget has a rare gift for making patients feel safe when they are at their most vulnerable, and I will never forget the care she gave me. She represents the very best of the nursing profession and made a profound difference in my life."

Thank you, Bridget, for your and unwavering commitment to making a difference for the patients in your care.

A smile that helped ease a nervous patient. A comforting conversation that made someone feel less alone. A helping hand that made a busy day a little easier. A familiar, caring presence that reminded a family they weren’t on this journey alone.

During fiscal year 2026, 503 adult and teen volunteers gave 74,332 hours of their time to Penn Medicine Doylestown Health; 9,790 hours from teens and 64,542 hours from adults.

That time represents more than $2.6 million in contributed value according to the Independent Sector’s valuation of volunteer service in our region. But the true value of our volunteers can’t be measured in hours or dollars. It’s found in the compassion, kindness and heart they bring to our patients, families, visitors and staff.

To every Doylestown Health volunteer: thank you for making a difference every day. We are incredibly grateful for you.

For one day, the streets of Doylestown became a finish line, a starting line and a celebration of community. The cheers started early. Riders took to the course, families gathered along the streets, kids raced, and professional cyclists pushed themselves to the limit, all coming together for the 2026 Bucks County Classic.

And we were proud to be part of it. As a sponsor of the Bucks County Classic and the longest-standing supporter of the Pro Women’s Race, Penn Medicine Doylestown Health is honored to help bring this signature event to our community.

Because events like this are about more than the race. They’re about connection and healthy living. And the people who make Bucks County such a special place to call home.

From the first riders crossing the starting line to the final cheers of the day, we loved seeing our community come together to celebrate the sport and one another.

Thank you to every rider, volunteer, organizer, spectator, and supporter who made the 2026 Bucks County Classic a day to remember.

For a patient facing a long hospital stay, a new puzzle, a favorite coffee, a craft kit, or even a simple pack of hair ties can offer something that medicine alone can’t: a moment of comfort and connection.

That idea inspired PennHOPES, a program created by Penn Medicine neurology residents to bring small, meaningful gifts to patients experiencing extended hospital stays. Since its start, providers have used the program to surprise patients with thoughtful gifts tailored to the things they love.

One patient received a new puzzle and was so excited, she immediately video-called a family member to share it. Another received a craft kit that reminded him of something he used to do with his grandmother. And for one patient facing the holidays in the hospital, a gift helped him give something special to his own children.

Sometimes caring for a patient means more than treating an illness. It means remembering the person behind the hospital gown. It means noticing the little things. And it means finding a way to bring a little light to a difficult day. That’s the power of a small act of kindness.

Since opening its doors in July 2023 at the Health and Wellness Center in Warrington, the Doylestown Health Family Medicine Residency Practice has been doing something special: bringing together hands-on physician training and comprehensive care for patients of all ages.

Here, residents work alongside experienced Family Medicine physicians, caring for patients from diverse backgrounds and gaining real-world experience treating everything from routine health concerns to chronic conditions.

And this summer marked an exciting milestone: the graduation of our inaugural residency class!

As the program enters its next chapter, the practice continues to grow and welcome new patients, with same-day appointments available for both children and adults.

We’re grateful for the training facility that provides the space for our residents to learn by doing, our physicians to teach, and our patients to receive exceptional care, all under one roof.
