I’m often asked where I recommend practicing yoga between sessions.

There are so many great studios and teachers in our area, and I always encourage people to find the places and styles that feel like a good fit. One place I often recommend is Evolve, simply because it’s where I practice, too. It’s a space I genuinely enjoy spending time in, both as a student and a teacher.

Check out their awesome Labor Day specials and come practice! I’d love to see you there, whether we end up next to each other on our mats or I’m the one guiding the class. 💛

Breathwork for better decision making?

One of the things I appreciate most about this work is when research supports what I've experienced firsthand and what I've seen with clients.

I recently read a randomized controlled trial that found participants who practiced just two minutes of slow breathing before a challenging business decision-making exercise experienced less stress and made significantly more correct decisions than the control group.

We spend a lot of time developing leadership, communication, and technical skills, but we don't often talk about the physiological state we're in while trying to use those skills.

Sometimes the most valuable thing we can do before an important meeting, difficult conversation, or big decision isn't to think harder. It's to pause, take a few intentional breaths, and give ourselves a chance to respond instead of react.

Simple doesn't mean insignificant.

Resident events can be more than entertainment. They can give people opportunities to pause, move, learn, connect, and try something that supports their wellbeing.

Meditation is one option, but resident wellbeing programming can take many forms, including:

• Guided relaxation and sound experiences
• Gentle movement and stretching
• Mindfulness and practical stress-management tools
• Educational workshops
• Customized seasonal and community events

For multifamily teams, onsite experiences offer an accessible way to bring residents together without asking them to travel, purchase equipment, or already know where to begin.

Each Vista Wellbeing experience can be adapted to the community’s residents, available space, and programming goals. Because wellbeing does not look the same for everyone.

Wellbeing lives here.

One of the things I value most about serving senior apartment communities is the opportunity to return each month and build genuine connections with residents.

The residents at The Ivy at Draper are such a fun group, and I always enjoy hearing what they liked, what resonated, and what they would like to explore next. Their feedback helps shape experiences they can look forward to each month.

The Ivy is a beautiful property with an incredible team that clearly cares about creating a welcoming, engaging place to live. I’m grateful to partner with communities that make resident wellbeing and connection a priority.

One of the best parts of building Vista Wellbeing has been meeting people in the community who genuinely care about helping others.

Yesterday I had a great conversation with Dr. Aaron Conger, an interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine physician at University of Utah Health. I enjoyed learning more about his work with people experiencing persistent back, neck, and musculoskeletal pain, including the different nonoperative and interventional options available.

We also talked about ways individualized yoga, mindfulness, relaxation, and gentle movement may complement medical care for appropriate patients. I really appreciate professionals who are willing to learn about one another’s work and look for better ways to support the people we serve.

I’m slowly building a network of providers I can confidently refer people to, and I’m grateful for the connections I’m making along the way.

Join me at Evolve Wellness Collective for Heated Candlelit Deep Stretch, a slow, grounding class designed to help you unwind, release tension, and create a little more space in both body and mind.

We’ll settle into longer-held stretches in a gently heated studio, surrounded by soft candlelight. Expect an unhurried pace, supportive options, and plenty of time to simply be in your body without needing to push or perform.

Perfect for ending the day feeling a little looser, quieter, and more settled.
