💜 Why I Do Not Bill Insurance 💜

I’m often asked why I don’t bill insurance for Manual Lymph Drainage.

The reason is simple: I want to focus on my clients, not insurance requirements.

Insurance billing can involve referrals, diagnostic codes, documentation, and approval processes that may limit care. As a private-pay practice, I can provide more personalized treatment and spend more time focused on your needs.

This allows me to:

✔ Schedule based on your recovery needs
✔ Spend more time on care and less on paperwork
✔ Avoid delays from authorizations and approvals

Today reminded me why I fell in love with Manual Lymph Drainage.

A client came in with lymphedema in her leg after cancer treatment and lymph node removal. At the start of her session, there was a 4 cm difference between her ankles due to swelling. By the end of the session, that difference had reduced to 2 cm.

To some people, 2 cm may not sound like much.
But in the world of lymphedema, especially at the ankle where swelling can feel tight, heavy, painful, and restrictive, that change is meaningful. It can mean less pressure, more mobility, softer tissue, and relief that a client can physically feel walking out the door.

Not because of aggressive pressure.
Not because of a “detox.”
Not because of a social media trend.

Because the lymphatic system is real.
Because anatomy matters.
Because gentle, intentional touch can help redirect fluid when the body’s pathways have been altered by surgery and cancer treatment.

MLD is not a buzzword or fad.
For many people, it is real treatment that helps restore comfort, function, and quality of life.

This work is quiet, precise, and deeply human. Watching measurable swelling decrease within a single session is a reminder that gentle does not mean ineffective.

So grateful to be able to do work that truly matters. 🤍
