Dill and radish are your best gut friends.
When children have colic pain, what was traditionally given?
A liquid called gripe water.
And one of the soothing digestive herbs behind that comfort is dill. It has this gentle calming effect on the gut.
Then comes radish radiantly purple, crunchy, and full of fiber. In India, we often eat radishes and daikon raw because Ayurveda considers them some of the best friends of digestion.
They even say:
one who eats raphanus sativus radish daily will not suffer from hemorrhoids.
So why not eat more radish…
and avoid the pain in the butt?
Together, dill and radish nourish the gut bacteria and the gut fiber that we need every single day.
And one more Ayurvedic thought:
use your hands.
You can use a food processor, yes. But chopping by hand, mixing by hand, preparing food slowly with your hands keeps us connected to the body.
People who use their hands more tend to live longer.
Move your hands. Keep your heart healthy.
