💜 October Is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

This month, we stand with survivors, honor those who have lost their lives, and raise awareness about the importance of safe, healthy relationships. Domestic violence is not always physical. It can also include emotional abuse, verbal threats, controlling behavior, isolation, and financial abuse.

💜 Remember:
- You deserve to feel safe and respected in your relationship.
- Abuse is never your fault.
- You are not alone, and help is available.
- Supporting someone can start with listening without judgment and offering compassion.

At Dublin OB/GYN Associates, we believe every woman deserves to feel safe, supported, and cared for. Let’s break the silence, spread awareness, and remind survivors that they are not alone.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24/7 at 1-800-799-7233, by texting START to 88788, or visiting https://www.thehotline.org

💜 Together, we can raise awareness, offer support, and help break the cycle of abuse.

🎀 GET TO KNOW YOUR BREASTS! 🎀

Breast awareness is an important part of taking care of your health! Knowing what is normal for your breasts can help you recognize changes and know when it's time to contact your healthcare provider.

💕 When should you start?
There is no specific age to begin paying attention to your breast health, but the sooner the better. It's important to become familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel as you grow older.

💕 When should you check?
- You do not have to perform a formal breast self-exam every month.
- If you choose to do monthly self-exams, a few days after your period begins is a good time, when breasts are typically less tender or swollen.
- If you no longer have periods, choose a consistent day each month.

💕 What should you look for?
- A new lump or thickened area in the breast or underarm.
- Changes in breast size, shape, or appearance.
- Dimpling, puckering, or changes in the skin.
- Ni**le changes, including inversion or unusual discharge.
- Redness, swelling, or persistent breast pain.

💕 Remember: Not every breast change means cancer, but any new or unusual change should be evaluated by your healthcare provider. Don't wait until your next annual appointment to bring up a concern.

Your breast health matters at every age! Take time to know your normal, stay up to date on recommended mammograms, and never hesitate to ask questions.

🎀 October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀

This October, we're raising awareness about the importance of breast health, early detection, and staying up to date with your screenings.

💕 When was your last mammogram? If you're due for your annual screening, don't put it off! Scheduling your mammogram is an important step in taking care of yourself and your overall health.

Early detection matters, and taking a few minutes to schedule your screening could make a difference. Take care of yourself, make your breast health a priority, and encourage the women you love to do the same! 💗

Dr. Chism’s commitment to caring for women extends far beyond the walls of our office. His continued dedication to serving our community and supporting mothers who are navigating addiction does not go unnoticed. Through his involvement with Quentin’s Place, Dr. Chism has been able to help provide compassion, encouragement, and support to moms who are working toward a healthier future for themselves and their children.

Addiction can be an incredibly difficult journey, and having people who are willing to walk alongside these mothers—without judgment and with genuine care—can make such a meaningful difference. Thank you Dr. Chism!

💗 Motherhood isn’t always picture-perfect. And that’s okay.

Everyone talks about the excitement of bringing your baby home, but not enough people talk about the emotions that can come afterward. Postpartum depression is more than the baby blues. It can leave a new mom feeling sad, overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or unlike herself.

You may be thinking:
• “Why don’t I feel happy?”
• “Why am I crying all the time?”
• “I feel overwhelmed and exhausted.”
• “I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
• “What’s wrong with me?”

You are not failing. And you are not alone. ❤️

Postpartum depression is common, and help is available. Talking with your healthcare provider is an important first step, call us today at (478)-272-8580 to schedule your visit. You deserve support just as much as your baby does.

📞 If you or someone you know is experiencing thoughts of su***de or self-harm, call or text 988 for immediate support. If there is an immediate danger, call 911.

Taking care of Mom matters, too. 💗

💙 Baby Blues: You Are Not Alone

Bringing a baby into the world is a beautiful experience, but it can also come with unexpected emotions. If you’ve recently given birth and find yourself feeling tearful, overwhelmed, irritable, or more emotional than usual, you may be experiencing the baby blues.

Baby blues are common and often begin within the first few days after delivery. They typically improve within two weeks.

Remember:
- It’s okay to ask for help.
- Rest when you can and accept support from loved ones.
- Talk about how you’re feeling.
- You don’t have to navigate motherhood alone.

If your symptoms last longer than two weeks, become more intense, or make it difficult to care for yourself or your baby, reach out to your healthcare provider. You deserve support, understanding, and compassionate care.

At Dublin OB/GYN, we’re here for you throughout pregnancy and beyond. Your mental health matters, and there is no shame in asking for help.

If you or someone you know is experiencing thoughts of self-harm or harming the baby, seek immediate help by calling 911 or 988.

💛 September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month

Mental health is part of women’s health, too.

Pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, miscarriage, hormonal changes, menopause, and the many challenges life brings can affect your emotional well-being. You don't have to go through it alone.

If you or someone you love is struggling, speak up, reach out, and ask for help. Sometimes a simple “Are you okay?” can make a difference.

Remember:
• You are not a burden.
• Your feelings matter.
• Asking for help is a sign of strength.
• You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out.

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or having thoughts of su***de, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 in an emergency.

💛 Your mental health matters. Your life matters. You matter.
