Kilted 50 For Charity

Kilted 50 For Charity Learn how to change the world.... one kilt at a time! So, I did it for charity. I turned 50 in November 2013. I wore a kilt every day until my 51st birthday.

Bring awareness, advocacy, action and funds to a wide variety of organizations, causes, groups and individuals who are attempting to change the world and make it a better place! During the spring of 2013, I was inspired by a guy on Facebook that decided to wear a kilt every day, from his 50th to his 51st birthday. (His name is Rick Baldwin, who now blogs under “Kilted For Life”) And I thought this

would be a great idea, and I could post photos and blog and…... But he already did it. I raised over $5,000, and I split it between ELCA World Hunger and the American Cancer Society. I have decided to continue keeping Kilted 50 For Charity going. Kilted 50 For Charity is the fundraising branch of Earth And Cup, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization. I would like to support organizations, groups and individuals who are working to change the world and make it a better place. In 2015, I gave away over $2,000 spread among 27 organizations; in 2016, over $3,000 among 20 agencies; in 2017, over $3,200 among 15 agencies; in 2018, over $1,500 among 10 agencies; in 2019, over $4,100 among 16 agencies; in 2020, over $15,700 among 18 agencies; and in 2021, over $14,200 among 11 agencies. We offer financial support, as well as assistance with awareness, action and advocacy. Although I am not wearing a kilt every day, there will be many opportunities for everyone to participate:
• For $10 you can purchase one of the hand-made kilt koosies.
• For $20 you can sponsor a day which means you get to pick a particular day and choose what kilt I will wear, and I will give you credit online! Kilts are shown on the page.
• You could decide to host some sort of event, which I will assist you in planning.
• You can follow me on my page, Kilted 50 For Charity, which will keep you posted on upcoming events, new koozies and kilt choices, and lots of photos. You can email me at [email protected] . Mail donations to: Kilted 50 For Charity, c/o Earth And Cup Inc., 3883 Summit View Road. Dublin OH 43016. Checks should be made out to Earth And Cup, Inc., with Kilted 50 For Charity in the memo. Thanks for helping to change the world, one kilt at a time! Peace, Mike

Kilted 50 will be at the Maple Syrup Festival and will be participating in the festivities!

We’re excited to welcome Doug Kirsop, James Hallman, Doug Fidler, Kevin Maggio the Corgi, Pastor Ian Boden, and Percy Maggio as official Kilt Wearers for the Maple Syrup Festival’s Kilted 50th Anniversary! To celebrate 50 years of tradition and community, these fine competitors have stepped up (and into a kilt) to help raise funds for HopeWood Pines.
From now until the Festival on March 8, you can support our kilt-wearers by making a donation through their personal fundraising page. Every gift—big or small—helps make a real difference and keeps this community tradition strong.
If you see these kilt-wearers at the Festival, be sure to cheer them on during the Kilt Show and cast your vote for your favorite kilted look!
