It’s always a busy time at Dream Team Prosthetics with patients traveling in from all across the United States and internationally for the innovative and effective care we provide!

We greatly appreciate our patients loyalty; entrusting their care to our clinical team for a lifetime!

As technology improves, we are always involved in evaluating components to determine the best usage for our patients and how it can benefit their mobility independence!

We recently had the opportunity to treat our long time friend, Mark Ormrod, British Royal Marine Commando! Our team first provided care to him in 2009 and it’s great to see his commitment and dedication throughout the years! Congratulations!

Mark is a great example for others with multiple limb loss to see what is possible with the right approach for training and custom socket design that allows him to be a full time prosthetics user! The last time Mark used a wheelchair was June 9, 2009!

We are looking forward to a many busy weeks ahead providing exceptional care to our patients; above knee, below knee and multiple limb loss!

The 2026 Bilateral Life Camp is just a few weeks away! This is a life changing event for those highly motivated individuals with bilateral above knee limb loss that make the commitment to attend!

Our clinical team organized the very first bilateral above knee focused meeting twenty years ago with just seven participants! Since then we have seen peer engagement grow and thrive!

Bilateral Life Camp is challenging; it is rough; it is exhausting; but one thing is certain, each participant has a new outlook and greater knowledge about what is possible and how to obtain the results!

Some people say they are coming and then never attend. Fear can have a greater impact than finding the courage to participate!

Bilateral Life Camp is all about being out of your comfort zone in order to face fear and anxiety to regain mobility independence! Each person has a choice to make.

The 2026 Bilateral Life Camp is just 8 weeks away and we are looking forward to another record breaking event!

The clinical team at Dream Team Prosthetics organized the very first bilateral above knee event in 2006! Now twenty years later, the torch is burning brighter than ever before!

We have a record number of “first time” attendees that have registered, coming in from all across the United States and internationally; truly a world class event!

Bilateral Life Camp is for those highly motivated individuals with bilateral above knee limb loss that are seeking the highest level of mobility independence and efficiency!

We are looking forward to seeing a great group of returning peer mentors that are dedicated to paying it forward to others; they motivate and encourage new attendees that have the desire to learn like they did!

Bilateral Life Camp is a one of a kind event, unmatched anywhere in the world! It’s highly challenging, real world situations, pushing past limits to overcome daily obstacles! We always have a few surprises as well!

We had a very busy week working with our long time friend and patient Mark Ormrod Royal Marine Commando from the United Kingdom!

Clinical Director Chad Simpson first fit Mark way back in 2009, not long after he was injured in the line of duty! It’s an honor for us to continue to have the opportunity to provide him with his prosthetic care! We greatly appreciate the loyalty of our patients!

Mark has attended the Dream Team Prosthetics Bilateral Life Camp in past years, providing peer support and participating in daily activities!

In addition to custom designing him a new pair of sockets, we optimized his alignment and updated the programming of his Ottobock Genium X4 microprocessor knees!

Mark is a full time prosthetic user; he hasn’t used a wheelchair since Chad fit him so many years ago! He travels independently all across the world and relies on his prosthetics for his daily mobility independence!

It was great catching up with Mark and getting him dialed in for more efficient walking! We wish him safe travels as he returns home to the UK and we sincerely thank him for his military service and sacrifice!

We look forward to the next time we see Mark and hopefully he can participate in Bilateral Life Camp again!

The clinical leadership of Dream Team Prosthetics organized the first bilateral camp twenty years ago! This was our vision, to focus our highly advanced clinical skills for this patient population that, at that time, rarely used prosthetics; relying on a wheelchair and other specialized adaptive equipment roughly 99% of the time!

We focus on interactive demonstrations and activities for all camp attendees to learn what is possible and provide an avenue to meet or exceed their daily life goals!

The design and fit of the prosthetic socket is the most important component of every prosthesis!

At Dream Team Prosthetics, clinical Director Chad Simpson takes a plaster impression of the residual limb by hand! With this method, each variance of the residual limb is captured accurately!

A positive plaster mold is then created so that modifications can be sculpted into the impression; loading areas for necessary weight bearing and accommodating other areas that might be problematic.

The result is a custom designed prosthetic socket that is securely locked onto the patients limb, providing maximum control and efficiency while walking.

At Dream Team Prosthetics, our goal for every patient is to provide them with a custom designed prosthesis that they can utilize and maximize their mobility independence!

Why would someone travel all the way to Dream Team Prosthetics from Norway? Because they want the advanced clinical expertise and skill only available to our patients!

Marcus lost both legs above the knee from a motorcycle accident several years ago. He attended the 2025 Bilateral Life Camp to learn improved mobility skills and to participate in activities that he knew would challenge his ability! Last year he was still using a crutch and wheelchair.

He returned to his home in Norway with a clear understanding of what is possible for mobility independence for a highly motivated individual with bilateral above knee limb loss! He completely ditched his crutch and has not sat in a wheelchair since December 2025!

He continued to implement the activities he learned at bilateral life camp and focused on reducing his weight and building strength and endurance! Commitment is the key to success once your prosthetics are optimized!

He returned to Dream Team Prosthetics for a new pair of custom designed prosthetic sockets to accommodate his volume reduction from weight loss!

We fully optimized his prosthetics; alignment and programming of the Ottobock Genium X4 knees. He is now able to focus on daily life challenges such as ramps, hills, stairs, curbs and uneven terrain!

Marcus is looking forward to the 2026 Bilateral Life Camp in October where he will continue to expand his mobility independence!
