What an honor to be part of this! 🩵

In March, Dr. Mary Schneider, Sara Flood (NFPCoach- Marquette Method) , and I had the opportunity to give a talk for the USCCB on Ethics in FemTech.

As a Marquette instructor, ethics and Femtech are always top of mind.
I mean, we use FemTech every day!

This makes it an especially important topic for me, both as an instructor and as a user.

In this webinar, we discuss:
▫ The different types of FemTech available
▫ What it means to work with companies (or use products) that don’t share our values as Catholics
▫ The ethics of promoting NFP approaches that lack research

It was such an honor to be asked to speak on this topic, and to collaborate with others who are passionate about bringing clarity and integrity to an evolving field 💚

Louise and I went on an adventure this weekend to visit Dr Fehring, Dr Schneider, Susana and the gang at Marquette University, Boland Institute for NFP.

We had the best tour guide- Dr Fehring- and the nursing students who took one of these photos, were excited to meet the guy they read about in their nursing texts about the Marquette Method.

I consider it an ongoing honor to be part of this revolution in women’s health, bringing evidenced based practice into the hands of married couples around the world.

It was a weekend I will always treasure. 💫

NFP is approved by the Catholic Church as a moral method of spacing children.

NFP can be for family planning, but it can also be for health and self knowledge.

NFP is a tool for healthcare providers to treat cycle abnormalities.

A woman with hypothyroidism can identify when her levels are out of balance from her chart and a woman with diabetes can tell when her blood sugar is not maintained from her charting.

The menstrual cycle is a vital sign of health and can do a whole lot more than family planning too.

Summer is here…. And that means so are my kids… ☀️🏖️ while I’m trying to hold onto these summers while they are still at home, I take a little teaching break to be with them.

As always, if you’ve taken my course before, please reach out for renewal options anytime.

I’m not taking new clients in June and July simply because I don’t have many office hours during these weeks. I’ll be back to it August 4th with the start of the new school year!

🤔 Have you ever wondered how effective your method of NFP is?

Would you take a medication or do an invasive procedure that no one has ever studied? 💊💉

We don’t think you should do that with medication, procedures or your family planning. That’s why the Marquette Method is founded on evidenced based research and we will always work with you to understand how effective one process is over another, or if there is no research done! Transparency and informed decision making are important for all aspects of healthcare and natural family planning IS healthcare.

🎯 In 2018, this systematic review was published that looked at all moderate+ published research on fertility awareness based methods (used barriers when fertile) and natural family planning (abstinence during the fertile time)

The results in this graphic are from this published paper.
✨ fun fact: this paper was sent to the CDC and now the CDC reports that NFP and FABM’s can have up to a 2% typical use pregnancy rate now! Before this paper- they reported ~25% pregnancy rate with NFP and FABM’s.

the first rule of NFP...

if you don't know, abstain, assume you are fertile and keep testing... and contact your instructor.

If you haven't been in touch with your instructor in a while, reach out, ask your question and about renewal options.

Typically NFP instructors are generous and have renewal packages available for clients they have previously worked with.
