If you know me you know I am fascinated by exploring humanity.
How we function (or not) and how we can support our wellbeing, growth and quality of life from an inner to outer perspective.
There are many wonderful tools I use and one of my favorites is myofascial release or MFR.
Most people have an impression that “deeper” is better and you gotta get in there and “dig” those“knots” out! Yes, some deeper directed pressure has its place but it’s not a solve all approach.
After 30 years of hands on work with a variety of different people and bodies,I have developed a keen sense that says,”this is a whole human being on my table with background and experiences all their own. They possess a spectrum of emotions, perceptions and behaviors all adding up to create a living manifestation of body, mind and spirit.”
I feel deeply committed to honoring that in people and I listen to it as a guiding voice in how I interact and serve.
I appreciate MFR as a holistic and inclusive form of bodywork (cuz we are multi faceted critters and bodywork doesn’t only affect our physical selves, thankfully 😅)Myofascial release has proved to be an effective tool for exploration, development and healing.
The foundations for getting into the healing field are kind of counter to our “up top”, “brainy” way of navigating life.
I’ve found to get there it takes helping people experience themselves in this work and that ultimately is what creates the most influence.
Explanations are surface. It’s the embodiment of the experience that brings it to life in a way that can be felt in a very personalized way.
Part of my natural internal drive is to teach and share what I have experienced and learned.
This is a short article the encompasses some of the workings of MFR.
I am also excited to be opening up more space on my personal calendar for new clients interested in beginning or continuing their self exploration through play, embodiment practices, MFR, traditional relaxation bodywork and coaching, both one-on-one and in group settings.
Feel free to pass this along to anyone you know that may be curious or receive some benefit.
As always I am available to chat and answer questions.
Cheers to your continued vitality!
Happy Friday friends!! 💜
