Everyone assumed the same thing: people on GLP-1s would stop showing up at the gym. Now, we know that's not what's happening.
Our COO Kiersten Fitzgerald told AthleTECH news during an article in their Summer 2026 issue:
"GLP-1s are not fighting the fitness industry. GLP-1s are helping support the fitness industry."
The numbers in the article say the same thing.
300 people on GLP-1s were surveyed.
72% said they work out more now than they used to. Two years ago that was 60%.
For people under 45, gym membership went from 43% to 62%.
It's one survey, and people were reporting on themselves. Take it as a signal, not a settled fact. But it lines up with something simple.
When people lose weight, some of what they lose is muscle. Strength training is what protects it. So the gym matters more once someone starts treatment, not less.
That's why every plan we build covers all three: the medication, the food, and the movement.
