The kids are getting younger and younger. 🤍
I’ve spent 20+ years in skincare and I teach inside Sephora — so I have a front-row seat to the “Sephora Kids” trend. And while I LOVE that this generation wants to care for their skin, most of what they’re reaching for was never formulated for young, developing faces.
Retinol, exfoliating acids, high-dose vitamin C → these are anti-aging actives. On a child’s skin they don’t reverse a clock that hasn’t started ticking. They break down the barrier and cause irritation, rashes, and sun sensitivity.
Here’s the gentle truth I share at the counter: sometimes she doesn’t want the serum — she wants her favorite creator. And loving someone’s videos doesn’t mean their product was made for a 9- or 12-year-old’s skin. So turn the bottle over together and read the label. That one habit is everything.
What young skin actually needs is simple: a gentle cleanser, a light moisturizer, and SPF every morning. That’s the whole routine. 🤍

Walk into any Sephora and you’ll see what I mean. Tweens loading their baskets with retinols and acids that are formulated for a 40-year-old’s skin, not an 11-year-old’s.
