It's that time of year for many to start experiencing allergy symptoms triggered by airborne grass and w**d pollens and outdoor mold spores. 🌱 For those allergy sufferers, an antihistamine may be beneficial to help manage symptoms and get you back to enjoying the summer! 🌞😎

Antihistamines like loratadine (brand name Claritin) and cetirizine (Zyrtec) work by blocking histamine, a chemical released in the body during an allergic reaction. These over-the-counter medications are taken once daily and treat allergy symptoms such as:
👉 sneezing 🫢
👉 runny nose 🤧
👉 itchy/watery eyes 😢

This is Allison. Allison didn't wear sunscreen this weekend. Don't be like Allison... 😂

This Wellness Wednesday we want to talk about the importance of sunscreen!🌞🧴 After the harsh Iowa winters, we all look forward to enjoying the sunshine and outdoors while we can. Wearing sunscreen daily helps prevent sunburn, premature aging, and reduces the risk of skin cancer. Even on cloudy days, harmful UV rays can still damage your skin.

Here are some important things to know:
👉 You should use a sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) of 30 or greater. A sunscreen with an SPF of 30 blocks 97% of the sun burning rays. Higher number SPFs block slightly more, however, no sunscreen can block 100% of the sun’s burning rays.
👉 Some medications, including for example certain antibiotics, birth control pills, anti-depressants and heart medications, can increase sun sensitivity.
👉 Any tan is a sign of skin damage.

Today's Wellness Wednesday we're highlighting a supplement for a condition that was recently renamed and affects 1 in 8 women globally. 🌿💊

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (formerly known as Polycystic O***y Syndrome or PCOS) is a hormonal and metabolic disorder that occurs when the ovaries produce higher than usual levels of androgens (male hormones).
