Today was a great day for an outing. We took advantage of the clouds and breeze and ventured out to Mulberry Phosphate Museum followed up by a lunch outing to Centennial Park and Butterfly Garden, also in Mulberry. We had the opportunity to learn about why Phosphate is important and it's significance here in Polk County. We were also able to walk through an old train car and see some amazing fossils and bones of various animals discovered right here in Central Florida!

Today we had the opportunity to visit the brand new Winter Haven Recreation and Cultural Center. If you have not been there, please make it a point to go. It is absolutely beautiful! Indoors holds a basketball court, exercise gym, volleyball court, lockers, library, meeting and conference rooms, and a tech room. Outdoors includes a basketball court, playground, splash pad, pool, lockers, and a shaded picnic table area. The best part is it is handicap accessible so it allows our folks to enjoy the Center and all it has to offer. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming in addition to answering all of my questions. The Center is open to ALL communities so you do not have to live in Winter Haven to enjoy it. All participants are required to complete a Rec Pass Waiver prior to participating. Thank you to the City of Winter Haven for building such a beautiful and inclusive facility that we plan on enjoying as much as possible! P.S......the playground was their favorite part!!! Lol
