The research was a double-blind, pre-test-post-test randomized controlled experimental study. The data were collected using Information Form, Wong-Baker FACES Pain Scale (W-BPS), Vital Signs Follow-up Form, and The Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL) 3.0 Cancer Module.

Reiki was performed to the Reiki group for 20–30 minutes once per day, for 3 consecutive days and pseudo-Reiki was applied to the pseudo-Reiki group by an independent nurse during the same period. Reiki did not affect the vital signs of the children but was effective in reducing pain and increasing the quality of life compared with the pseudo-Reiki and control groups.

Noting the study's rigorous design and its evidence-based rationale for incorporating Reiki treatments more broadly into cancer care practices, CRR reviewers scored this paper, published in the 𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘖𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘕𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨, highly (Very Good/Excellent) using the CRR Touchstone evaluation process.

For this particular reiki session, my client saw a sunflower opening and when we looked up what that could mean, it was just so cool!

An opening sunflower can symbolize the activation, clearing and blossoming of the solar plexus chakra which can represent a powerful surge of personal confidence and inner strength. Seeing a sunflower can indicate that you are stepping out of emotional shadows and allowing healing light to nourish your core. Just like a sunflower bloom turns towards the sun for warmth and unfurls its petals as light hits it. 🌻🌞

🎶 We added tuning forks for this session and I was led to use the 639 Hz frequency which is believed to help with relationship harmony, healing the heart chakra, and emotional balance. 🎶
