What an incredible week! ☀️🌴

I am so grateful to the Paragon Program for the invitation and opportunity to speak at their annual conference in beautiful Longboat Key, Florida. It was an honor to spend time with so many passionate dental professionals and share what we have learned through our work with oral restrictions at East Berlin Smiles and the Pennsylvania Tongue-Tie Center.

One of my greatest joys is helping to educate and empower other offices so they can better recognize oral dysfunction, understand the impact of tethered oral tissues, and ultimately provide even better care for their patients and families. Every time we can spread awareness and knowledge, more people have the opportunity to receive the help they need.

I was especially thankful that our entire team came along to support me. We work hard together every day, and it was wonderful to spend a few days learning, connecting, encouraging one another, and fitting in a little fun along the way. Seeing our team represented so well reminded me that none of this work happens alone.

Thank you to Paragon for your hospitality, your commitment to continuing education, and for creating an environment where ideas can be shared openly. We returned home inspired, energized, and even more committed to our mission of helping patients breathe, function, feed, speak, and thrive.

The countdown to work return has begun, but baby won't take a bottle? Don't panic—but don't wait either.

Once breastfeeding is established, you want to start thinking ahead for the end of your maternity leave. If your maternity leave is 6 weeks or less, you may need to start planning right away.

Start at least 3-4 weeks before your return date:
🍼 Begin offering baby small amounts (0.5-1oz) in a bottle when baby is calm, not hangry
🍼 Have someone other than the breastfeeding parent offer the bottle
🍼 Choose a bottle ni**le with a slow flow and a gradual slope, to mimic the same oral function as breastfeeding
🍼 Practice paced bottle feeding
🍼 Maintain a consistent routine

Our infant feeding specialists can assess your baby's specific oral function and create a personalized transition plan. We'll also support you through the transition!

More than 90% of our clients pay nothing out-of-pocket thanks to insurance coverage. Professional support is more accessible than you think.

Book your virtual or in-home consultation in our profile or by sending us a DM!

Dr Danielle is an important part of our collaborative team approach to tongue tie care!

Did you know chiropractic care may help support infants with oral ties as part of a collaborative care approach? 👶🩵

Tethered oral tissues (lip ties and tongue ties) can contribute to:
• Difficulty latching
• Clicking while nursing
• Gassiness or reflux-like symptoms
• Neck tension and body tightness
• Preference turning one direction
• Feeding fatigue for both baby and mom

Many babies with oral ties also develop tension patterns throughout the neck, jaw, and upper body from compensating during feeding. Gentle pediatric chiropractic care focuses on improving nervous system function, mobility, and reducing tension in these areas to help support more comfortable feeding and movement patterns.

Chiropractic care does not “treat” the tie itself, but may help the body function more efficiently alongside lactation support, bodywork, and when needed, evaluation by a trained oral tie provider. 🤍

Always consult with your pediatrician, IBCLC, or qualified provider for diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

Great tips from Dr Danielle!

Great tips from Dr Danielle!

Infants are constantly learning how to regulate their nervous systems in the world around them. 🩵👶

Simple, nurturing practices can help support regulation and comfort during those early months:
✨ Skin-to-skin contact
✨ Baby wearing
✨ Co-regulation with calm caregivers
✨ Warm baths and gentle movement
✨ Rest and responsive comforting
✨ Trusting your parental intuition

A regulated caregiver helps support a regulated baby. 💛

Many parents don’t realize babies can hold tension and stress in their little bodies too, from birth, feeding challenges, growth spurts, or overstimulation. Gentle pediatric chiropractic care may help support nervous system balance, comfort, mobility, and overall regulation as babies grow and develop.

You know your baby best, and support matters for both baby and parents during this season. 🤍
