I have had a running theme throughout my life this year and it is FREEDOM. Freedom to live authentically and fiercely. I have had this photo sitting in a folder for about 3 years and believed it was too silly to be out there on the web BUT not today. :) It takes courage to allow ourselves to be all of who we are and for me, I am making a commitment to allow the joyful, silly and spontaneous side to radiate.

Letting go of attachments

As I sit this morning looking outside my living room window, I see the way the snowflakes are coming down and feel so peaceful within myself. Mother nature has a way of reminding me that there is a natural order of things. The snow day allows me to stay home and become nestled in my own quiet space. Nature has allowed me to reconnect with myself. With the reconnection, I begin reflecting on how difficult it can be for us to let go of things, people, beliefs, relationships that no longer serve our spirits and only dampen our vitality and health.

I believe that we all are meant to feel a natural flow and rhythm in our lives, but often feel stuck due to attachments in the mind. Often times, these attachments get in the way of allowing the creation of what we really want in our hearts. Our hearts have a knowing that is innate and divinely ordered, but gets denied by the expectations and attachments of the mind. One of my favorite inspirational and spiritual writers, Wayne Dyer, stated that it is important that we let our minds be open to everything and allow our minds to be attached to nothing at all, and in that we become free. Today allow yourself to focus on what you want and how you want to feel, and in making that choice, you will inherently begin to allow the attachments of the mind to dissolve. We are meant to co-create with the universe and we can do that most effectively when the resistance of attachments are removed.
