Our native passion fruit / May Pop (Passiflora incarnata). There are still some on the vine and would have been a LOT more if I had not harvested the flowers for remedies for sleep and nervousness. Well, not as exciting and flavorful. As tropical varieties , they are still sweet and sour and can be used to make many , many different things.

I am sorry, but WTF?

You came to me as a client once in the last four years. you have a friend call at 4 PM because for some reason, calling from your phone is not coming through, asking to book a 90 minute session for today. I tell you it’s not a problem as long as it’s booked by 5 PM on Friday cause that’s my cutoff time for the weekend so I can make plans to do things with my husband and friends. And I send you the link so you can book your appointment, almost 5 hours after the cutoff time you book the appointment!!! I wake up my husband asking about this and we rearranged our entire weekend plans so you can get the therapy that you say you desperately need.

So today 11:06 AM six minutes after your appointment was supposed to start you send me a text message through the online scheduling app telling me you just woke up . I attempt to text you back just to find out that you did not agree to receiving text or email messages outside of the alerts for your appointment so I cannot read your full text or text you from the scheduling app . So I copy your number and send you a basic text message…. No reply. I call no reply. Then you send me another text message through the appointment app saying that you tried to call it went to voicemail. There is no voicemails and you see. I’m not available till Monday. You tell me how bad you’re suffering and then tell me that if I try to charge you for the no-show that you agreed to pay for if you no-show, it would be declined. By this point it’s almost 11:40 AM so I cancel your appointment and process the cancellation fee and lo and behold. It’s declined.

The fact that you’ve seen me once in 4 years and that you booked an appointment, knowing that if you did not show you would not pay, purposely, the cancellation fee that you agreed to by booking the appointment I don’t feel it is worth anybody’s time for you to be a client. You clearly have no respect for my business, no respect for my time or my husband and our friends times, since we redid all of our plans for this weekend to fit you in for this 90 minute session that you decided not to show up for.

Square. I’ve been using you for nearly 10 years and you made it clear you do not want or care about having my business. Everything my single super small gig business needed was all available in your Appointment + plan, and it was extremely affordable for me as a super small business at $30 a month. But now you made it clear that you no longer care anything at all for small gig and mom and pop businesses with just two or three employee employees. You know no longer want to work with them at all. You state in an email that on October 11, 2026 you are scrapping all of the plans that you have right now and breaking them down to just three. A free plan that pretty much offers nothing but credit card processing. Plus plan ($50 a month)that has a whole lot of features that a gig, sole proprietor, and a mom and pop business without more than five employees would ever need or can actually use and then you’re offering the premium plan ($150 a month) that has all the features to run a medium to large retail establishment as well as a medium to large food establishment. The problem with that is a non-food retail establishment. Does it need all the features that a food establishment has and vice versa. But you don’t give the people a choice anymore.

Using Square was very good for a very long time, but now it’s clear that you’re more interested in making a profit even when it hurts the people and small businesses that use your service.

Well, damn. It looks like I will have to find a new credit card appointment and website company. Square who I have used since they first started in 2010 has decided to revamp all of their stuff and are now only going to offer three different service plans.
Now, when they first started out, they were literally just a credit card processor. You typed the amount in you swipe the credit card and you were done. Overtime they added more features like a free website or a more advanced website with a bunch of features on appointment scheduling app they had plans for very small businesses like mine all the way up to businesses that had 30 employees or more. They came out with plans that were for restaurants that had all the features a restaurant would need and then they have add-ons like text message and email marketing invoicing features payroll and different inventory control features from very basic to you have 10,000 products. And it was great cause you could pick a plan that most closely fitted what you needed for your type and size of business……

Well, they’re no longer doing that. They’re literally going to have only three plans.

The first is Square free. Include very standard point of sale, item inventory library, vrry basic booking, very basic invoice , basic online selling site, and basic reporting. Partly issue is you won't be able to adapt anything to your type of business.

Next is square plus $50 a month. Advanced inventory management, loyalty programs, taxt and email marketing tools, staff management, advanced online booking features, amore adaptable website, a much more adaptable invoicing program. And more , but when you look at the details of some of these features , most of them are something a mom and pop and somebody who had only four or five employees could not actually use.

Then there's square premium , which is a $150 a month. Now, this one includes the features that a restaurant would need, as well as more advanced operating capabilities, adedicated customer phone support, and a whole lot more. But again, this one has a lot of features that if you're not a restaurant you will not be using, and if you're a restaurant , there's features that you would not use that a purely retail establishment spent.

So why are all of this might sound great every one of their plans, not counting?Their free plan have features that are completely useless and unnecessary to a whole lot of different business types.

So yeah , I have basically two months to find something new to use after 16 years with Square
