🎁 What an early birthday gift.

I’ve been holding my breath for this approval - for the patients in our community who have been waiting for another option. Our team is incredibly excited.

Today, the FDA approved the first RAS-targeted therapy for metastatic pancreatic cancer.

As someone who has dedicated every waking hour of my life to cancer care, this one gives me chills.

This is why real science matters: data over vibes. Rigorous research, clinical trials, failures, persistence - turning biology into something that can actually help patients.

I’ve seen how game-changing the right drug can be. I believe this has the potential to be another one of those moments.

Evidence-based hope is powerful. And today, it feels very real. πŸ’œ

Regards,

Roopa Gupta .

🧑 LONGEVITY TIPS β€” Beyond the Supplement Aisle 🧑
Back to Basics, Part 3
We've covered gardening 🌱 and movement πŸ’ͺ. Now let's talk about what's on your PLATE 🍽️
People in the Blue Zones β€” Okinawa, Sardinia, Ikaria, Nicoya β€” don't follow fad diets. They eat REAL, LOCAL food. Plants. Beans. Whole grains. Picked close to home, shared with family.

Here's the thing β€” you don't need to live on a Greek island to eat like one.
πŸ₯• YOUR LOCAL FARMERS MARKET IS A BLUE ZONE IN DISGUISE.
The science backs it up:
πŸ”¬ People who shop at farmers markets eat MORE fruits & vegetables β€” and have lower BMI than those who don't.
πŸ₯¦ A plant-rich diet lowers cancer-related death by up to 18%. Not a pill. Not a powder. Just real food from real soil.
πŸ… Seasonal. Local. Colorful. The polyphenols in fresh, vibrant produce β€” berries, greens, herbs, peppers β€” are nature's true anti-aging compounds.
🚫 Ultra-processed foods do the OPPOSITE. If the ingredient list is longer than this post β€” skip it.
So this weekend, try this:
βœ… Hit your local farmers market
βœ… Fill your bag with color β€” greens, reds, purples, oranges
βœ… Talk to the farmer. Know your food.
βœ… Cook something simple. Share it with someone you love.
No detox. No cleanse. No miracle supplement.
Just REAL FOOD, grown CLOSE TO HOME, eaten TOGETHER.
That's the Blue Zone way. πŸ’™
πŸ‘‰ Ask your oncology team about nutrition support during and after treatment. We're here for you.

🧑 LONGEVITY TIPS β€” Beyond the Supplement Aisle 🧑

Back to Basics, Part 2

Last time we talked about gardening 🌱. Today? Let's talk about WORK πŸ’ͺ

Not the burnout kind. The kind that keeps you MOVING, gives you PURPOSE, and connects you to PEOPLE.

Here's what the science says:

πŸ”¬ Physical activity after a cancer diagnosis cuts the risk of dying by 25–35%. No pill does that.

🚢 150 min/week β€” that's ~20 min/day. Walk. Take the stairs. Rake the yard. It ALL counts.

❀️ Social connection matters too. Isolation increases cancer mortality by over 20%. Community isn't a luxury β€” it's medicine.

No supplement. No miracle tea. Just MOVE more. CONNECT more. LIVE more.

πŸ‘‰ Ask your oncology team about safe ways to stay active during treatment. We're here for you.

LONGEVITY TIPS β€” Beyond the Supplement Aisle, and back to basics !!

οΏΌ
Tip #1: Start a Garden πŸŒΏπŸ…πŸŒ·πŸŒΊπŸŒ»πŸͺ·

Before you reach for the latest wellness trend, consider something timeless.

Pick up a trowel.
Gardening is the one activity found across every single Blue Zone β€” the five regions in the world where people consistently live past 100. Okinawa, Sardinia, Ikaria, Nicoya, Loma Linda. Different cultures, different diets, different climates. All of them garden.

Here's what the research tells us gardening does:

🌻 Reduces stress & improves mood β€” time in soil and sunlight is a natural antidepressant
🌻 Keeps joints moving β€” gentle, functional movement without the wear of high-impact exercise
🌻 Gets you outside & off your phone β€” fresh air and nature, not doomscrolling
🌻 Connects you to real food β€” you're more likely to eat well when you grow it yourself
🌻 Builds routine & purpose β€” a garden needs you every day, and that sense of purpose matters more than any pill

πŸ’‘ The longest-lived people on Earth aren't chasing the next big health hack - they're pulling weeds, watering tomatoes, and staying connected to the ground beneath them.
You don't need a big yard. A few pots on a balcony count. Start small. Stay consistent.
The best longevity plan is the one you'll actually enjoy.

ASCO 2026 Highlights :

One of the most encouraging updates from the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting was the continued progress in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).

Newer targeted therapies and immunotherapy combinations are delivering improved outcomes for patients with advanced disease, and recent data further reinforce the growing role of antibody-drug conjugates and personalized treatment strategies.

As a community oncology practice, what excites us the most is seeing these advances move beyond academic centers and into the communities where patients live. Cutting-edge cancer care shouldn't require extensive travel. Our goal is to bring evidence-based, state-of-the-art treatments to our patients - along with the personalized support they deserve.

Progress continues, and with it, more hope for patients and families facing breast cancer πŸͺ·

ASCO 2026 HIGHLIGHTS

🌝 A Series for the Community β€” From Your Oncologist
οΏΌ
Every year, over 45,000 oncologists, researchers, and cancer care professionals from around the world gather for one event: the ASCO Annual Meeting β€” the largest and most influential oncology conference on the planet.

For five days, the brightest minds in cancer research present their latest findings. Some are incremental. Some are promising. And once in a rare while β€” something happens that stops the room.
This year, that moment belonged to pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the hardest cancers we face. For decades, once patients progressed on first-line chemotherapy, the options were limited and the outcomes were devastating β€” most patients survived only 6 to 7 months.
At this year's ASCO, a new drug called daraxonrasib changed that story.
In a landmark phase III trial of 500 patients with previously treated metastatic pancreatic cancer, daraxonrasib β€” a first-in-class oral drug that targets the RAS protein, the very engine that drives over 90% of pancreatic cancers β€” doubled overall survival compared to standard chemotherapy:
πŸ“Š 13.2 months vs. 6.6 months
πŸ“‰ 60% reduction in the risk of death
πŸ’Š Only 1.2% of patients had to stop treatment due to side effects (vs. 11.2% with chemo)
And it wasn't just about living longer. Patients on daraxonrasib had less pain and better quality of life β€” something that matters deeply to every patient and family we care for.

When the results were presented, the audience β€” thousands of oncologists, many of whom have sat with patients and families through the hardest conversations β€” rose for a standing ovation. Not just for the data, but for what it represents: that even in the cancers we've struggled with the most, science is finally catching up.
οΏΌ
πŸ“Œ What This Means for Our Patients:
For years, we've told pancreatic cancer patients that second-line options were limited. This changes the conversation. Daraxonrasib is an oral medication - no infusion chair needed and it works across nearly all pancreatic cancers because it targets the RAS mutations found in over 90% of cases.

This is what progress looks like. And this is why we keep fighting.
οΏΌ
πŸ”œ Stay tuned β€” every few days, I'll share another highlight from ASCO 2026 that matters for our community.
Next up: a game-changer in triple-negative breast cancer.
