INSTALLMENT 9 --THE MEANING OF LIFE – is there a dark side? (continued)
For us humans here in time-space, there is no shortage of potentially dangerous events on planet earth. Most of us have already learned not to touch hot stoves or pick up poisonous snakes. However just by being here, we actually do have to tolerate a certain amount of risk to life and limb every day. We all know that driving a car is dangerous but that kind of risk doesn’t seem to limit us much, if at all. If we allow our thoughts to drift toward the sorts of dark and sinister events that often show up in the news media, we’re likely to be thinking about the awful things that humans do to each other. Abusing, vandalizing, robbing, murdering, terrorizing, going to war, or even just threatening to do such things. That’s what I am calling the dark side. If you are even half way normal, you will reflexively categorize all of these things as “BAD,” and rightly so! Even though we are spiritual beings having a temporary human experience, it’s a fact that our physical bodies (and physical minds) are sensitive and fragile. So I’ll not be maligning the human belief, at least for now, that bad stuff needs to be respected and avoided if possible.
Moving to the higher perspective though, our souls are still learning, growing, and forming their energetic presence in numerous ways, including through our human experiences. In the physical world, when life is smooth and easy, it turns out that there isn’t very much to be learned. It’s the challenges and conflicts in life that we tend to learn from and grow from the most. Does that mean that I can only learn and grow through pain? Well, on our planet that is certainly one of the more popular patterns. But take heart dear reader. No matter how frustrating it may seem at times, our souls are on a path toward greater and greater wisdom. One of the benefits that comes along with this, for us humans, is that we are gradually learning how to challenge ourselves in more creative, rewarding, and pleasant ways than by just allowing painful “bad stuff” to befall us. Nonetheless, while we’re on our way toward perfecting this lovely wisdom, our souls will choreograph a few rather gruesome (to us) scenarios in order to gain positive understanding and eventual wisdom.
Last installment, I mentioned that murder can be a mutually beneficial agreement between souls. The most common basic arrangement begins with two souls coming together to make a plan prior to starting a new incarnation. There are obviously two different experiences to be had – the role of murderer and the role of victim. Depending upon the larger story, including the possible involvement of other souls, there could be an almost endless variety of lessons in understanding, compassion, and humility. It’s important to understand that there is seldom any negative karma involved at the soul level, because the two primary characters will nearly always swap roles and do the whole thing over again in a later incarnation together. Ultimately both will forever KNOW what it feels like to be that kind of victim, and both will know first-hand the realities that go with being the perpetrator. A very humbling form of humility is certainly one of the timeless benefits for both participants in this event. Heartfelt compassion for other’s suffering is another priceless and timeless benefit. Does this sound crazy? Frankly, at some level, I think it should.
So think about this. Have you always been aware of a deep abiding feeling of compassion within yourself for people who are victims of heinous crimes? If the answer is yes, then it’s quite possible that you and one of your dearest soul-buddies, likely with the assistance of some other beloved soul friends, have already successfully played out similar roles to those I’ve just described. And that also means you’re not likely to ever need to do it again.
Bless you. Bless us all.
