Check out these sensory-friendly "silent" hair clippers! We had a family use them on a kiddo who has always struggled with hair cuts, and he's doing great with these!

Play with a purpose 💪✨

This fun rock wall activity is a simple way to target a ton of OT areas!

• Upper body and core strength
• Bilateral coordination (using both sides of the body together)
• Grip strength and endurance
• Motor planning and completing multi-step tasks
• Body and spatial awareness
• Visual-motor integration (finding and matching specific colors)
• Reflex integration, including ATNR and TLR

By adding a simple challenge of “find the matching color ring”, we turned movement into a goal-directed task that kept him engaged and motivated.

This is the beauty of play in OT: when kids are having fun, they’re more willing to try a push themselves a little further.

A little peek at what we worked on today💛

For this activity, the bolster she was standing on was gently moved side to side. She was able to work on maintaining her balance and shifting her weight to stay upright, building core strength and postural control in a fun, engaging way.

At the same time, she reached to place and remove pegs on the vertical surface, which challenges:
✨ Coordination and motor planning
✨ Fine motor control and grasp
✨ Shoulder and upper extremity strength
✨ Visual-motor integration

Working on a vertical surface also promotes a more functional wrist position and encourages stability through the shoulder, which are both important for everyday skills like writing and self-care tasks.

Functional, playful, and purposeful. Just how we like it!☀️
