This one came up again this week, and honestly it’s the fear I hear more than almost anything: “If I get filler and then stop, won’t my skin be all stretched out and saggy?” I get why people think that, because we’ve all seen the overfilled faces out there.
But the truth is your skin only stretches if you’re getting an absurd amount, year after year, and you’d notice that long before it ever got there. That’s not what filler is for. It’s meant to restore the volume we naturally lose as we age, OVER TIME, so you just look like a refreshed version of you.

And, yes, you absolutely can stop filler whenever you want. If you decide it’s no longer for you, then you can just stop whenever you want. Your body slowly metabolizes it while you keep aging naturally, the same way you would have anyway. No melting, nothing scary.

Tell me in the comments, have you thought this yourself? Or what scares you the most about filler?

So, here’s what I tell people who sit in my chair and point to their smile lines: the cause is not what they think it is. One of the major things happening is atually at the skin level iteself.

Think of collagen as the scaffolding of your skin. It’s the structure, the strength, the framework that keeps it firm and supported. Over time we make less of it (and lose 1% a year!) and as that scaffolding thins, the skin gets weaker and loses its support. That’s when lines settle in and the folds get deeper and stay. The skin starts to feel thinner and less resilient than it used to.

This is where I LOVE Sculptra. It’s a collagen stimulator, so over a few months it prompts your skin to build back its own collagen—and as that collagen comes in, the skin itself becomes thicker, stronger, and more supported from within. We’re rebuilding the quality, volume and substance of the skin, not just smoothing over the surface. So the change comes in gradually and genuinely looks like your own skin, because it is. This treatment really is as natural as it gets.

If you’ve been noticing this and wondering whether it’s something I can help with—it usually is. Send me a DM or book a consult through the link in my bio and we’ll talk through what your skin actually needs to get the support back.

Lip filler—but look at the✨ chin✨

The most impactful part of this treatment wasn’t actually the lips themselves. It was addressing the chin shadows that were pulling the whole area down and inward, creating shadows rather than the light reflection we want. When the support structure around the mouth is neglected, lips end up looking overdone no matter how conservative the technique. The lips are fresh and rejuvenated but everything around it is not—that’s why it starts to look off.

Working within this patient’s budget, we were able to restore rather than just add. That’s the difference between lips that look done and out of place and lips that look like yours again.

The chin is one of my favorite areas to treat and this is exactly why!

Microneedling, demystified. It can seem intimidating but it’s really not. Here’s how it goes...

Consent→cleanse→numb→cleanse→microneedle→out the door with your post-care instructions. That’s it. ✨
