As a special needs parent, I know firsthand how expensive adaptive equipment can beβ€”and how quickly our children outgrow things.

This fall, we're launching the NWPA Adaptive Equipment Exchange, a free community event to connect families with needed equipment.

Right now, we're collecting gently-loved adaptive equipment, sensory toys, communication devices, and mobility items.

If you have items sitting unused in your home, we'd love to help them reach another family. Please message me or our page to arrange a donation!

πŸ“£ We’re Already Planning for 2027!

Less than two weeks after hosting our first Disability Resource Fair of NWPA, we’re already back around the table reviewing feedback, celebrating successes, and planning for the future.

What started as an idea between two moms who wanted to make it easier for families to find resources has grown into something much bigger than we ever imagined. Because of the incredible support from families, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, speakers, and community partners, we’re excited to share some big news:

πŸ“… Save the Date: Saturday, May 22, 2027
πŸ“ Bayfront Convention Center, Erie, PA

Moving to the Bayfront Convention Center will allow us to continue growing while bringing even more resources, services, opportunities, and connections to individuals with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and professionals throughout Northwest Pennsylvania.

Today’s debrief meeting focused on reviewing feedback from attendees and vendors, celebrating the success of our inaugural event, and discussing ideas for next year and beyond. The excitement around this event continues to inspire us, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to build something that brings our community together.

We are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped make this year’s Fair possible, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

πŸ’™ One day. One roof. All for free.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We’re just getting started.

We are truly beyond words.

Today, hundreds of families, caregivers, professionals, community organizations, volunteers, sponsors, speakers, performers, and supporters came together for the very first Disability Resource Fair of NWPA.

What we witnessed today was more than we ever could have imagined.

We heard stories of families finding answers they had been searching for for years. We watched connections being made between organizations, professionals, and community members. We saw people leave with resources, hope, and new opportunities.

One message we received summed it up perfectly:

β€œYou helped a lot of people today.”

Most of all, we felt the incredible support of this community. Time and time again, people told us they found resources, connections, and answers they had been searching for, and that this event was something our community truly needed.

To every attendee, vendor, sponsor, volunteer, speaker, performer, and supporterβ€”thank you. Thank you for believing in this vision and helping make our first year such an overwhelming success.

We’re going to take a moment to catch our breath, reflect on the day, and gather photos and stories to share with all of you soon.

For now, please know how grateful we are.

Thank you, Northwest Pennsylvania. ❀️
