Recently, Sydney, our Vice President of Residential Operations, welcomed several residents’ families and guardians to dinner as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for their continued support, partnership, and collaboration.

Over a shared meal, our team had the opportunity to listen, connect, celebrate successes, and have meaningful conversations about the future. These moments help strengthen the trust, communication, and transparency that are so important to creating the best possible support system for our residents.

One guardian shared that, throughout her years serving as a guardian, she had never previously been invited to a personal lunch or dinner by an organization’s leadership team. She expressed how meaningful this gesture was and how it reflected the positive culture and personal attention she has experienced at FOCII.

We are proud to foster an environment where families and guardians feel heard, valued, and welcomed as essential partners in the care and success of the people we support.

To all of the families, guardians, and support networks who stand beside our residents and participants: thank you. Your advocacy, insight, and involvement make a lasting difference. 💙

At Friends of Cyrus II, making a difference goes beyond our programs. It’s about giving back to the communities we call home. 🌎

Our Tabernacle Day Program was proud to partner with the Tabernacle Historical Society for a community clean-up along Bozuretown Road. Participants rolled up their sleeves, collected litter, and worked together to help keep our community beautiful.

The day wasn’t just about cleaning up, it was about teamwork, community pride, and making a positive impact. Our participants had a wonderful time connecting with others, contributing to a meaningful cause, and showing that every effort, big or small, makes a difference.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who participated and grateful to the Tabernacle Historical Society for the opportunity to work together. We can’t wait for the next community clean-up!

When an unexpected fire impacted our longest-standing Medford Day Program at the end of Summer 2025, our Friends of Cyrus II family came together in an incredible way.

Individuals and staff from Medford quickly transitioned into shared spaces with our Tabernacle and Millstone Day Programs. While the change brought new surroundings, new routines, and new faces, it also highlighted something even more powerful—the resilience of the individuals we support and the unwavering dedication of our team.

For many of the people we serve, routine and consistency are essential. Despite the challenges of adjusting to a new environment, our participants embraced the opportunity to build new friendships, learn new routines, and continue participating in meaningful daily activities.

Thanks to the compassion, flexibility, and commitment of our staff, the three programs quickly became one supportive community. Together, they created an environment where everyone felt welcomed, valued, and empowered to continue growing.

This experience reminded us that while buildings may change, our mission never does. Through teamwork, perseverance, and person-centered support, our community continues to thrive even in the face of unexpected challenges.

We are incredibly proud of every individual and staff member who demonstrated strength, resilience, and kindness throughout this journey. 💙

Today, we celebrate the incredible person who inspired it all—Cyrus, the heart behind Friends of Cyrus II.

Named in his honor, Friends of Cyrus II was founded by his mom with a vision of creating a place where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are supported, empowered, and celebrated for who they are. What began with love for one son has grown into a community that has positively impacted so many lives.

Cyrus continues to inspire our mission every single day. He reminds us why we are committed to providing compassionate, person-centered care and creating opportunities for every individual to thrive.

🎨✨ Creativity in Action at Millstone Day Program! ✨🎨

At the Millstone Day Program, creativity is always on display—and Nick F. is a shining example of that.

As both a resident and dedicated program participant, Nick has been amazing staff and peers with his growing collection of hand-drawn superheroes and villains. Each illustration is packed with bold details, vibrant personalities, and incredible imagination, bringing his favorite characters to life in his own unique style.

With every new drawing, Nick continues to develop his artistic skills and showcase his passion for storytelling through art. His dedication, focus, and creativity have made his artwork a favorite throughout the program, with everyone excited to see what masterpiece he’ll create next.

✨ Client Success Story: Meet Dylan 💙

When Dylan first came to Friends of Cyrus II, he had experienced several placements that weren’t the right fit for his individual needs. During that time, especially throughout the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, he struggled with daily hygiene routines, managing behaviors, and navigating moments of frustration. These challenges made everyday life difficult for both Dylan and his family.

Today, Dylan’s story looks very different.

Since becoming both a resident and day program participant at Friends of Cyrus II, Dylan has made incredible strides toward greater independence, patience, and confidence. Through individualized support and a team committed to meeting him where he is, Dylan has learned to better regulate his emotions, manage daily routines, and face challenges with resilience.

His growth extends far beyond his own accomplishments. Dylan’s father shared that Friends of Cyrus II has transformed not only Dylan’s life, but their entire family’s. He credits the organization’s personalized approach, proactive support, and unwavering commitment to helping Dylan become as independent as possible.

Most importantly, Dylan’s family knows he is surrounded by people who genuinely care. The staff, home manager, and day program director continue to encourage, support, and celebrate his progress every step of the way.

Learning never stops at FOCII!

This month’s FOCII University Program Management Training Series brought our managers together for ISP Training and a focused educational session on Blood Pressure Monitoring, led by our very own Marisol, RN, BSN.

Marisol walked the team through the fundamentals of accurate monitoring, proper procedures, and documentation requirements, and even met with each manager one-on-one during breaks to review the specific needs of individuals in their programs.

Sessions like this highlight the importance of FOCII University as it’s about building knowledge, supporting professional growth, and making sure our team has the tools to provide the best care possible.

All Fur Paws Blanket Drive FOCII Gives Back: All Fur Paws Blanket Drive! 🐾

This spring, our Millstone and Tabernacle Day Programs teamed up to collect blankets for All Fur Paws Animal Hospital, located right next door to our Millstone site. From March through April, we gathered gently used and new blankets to help keep animals in need warm and comfortable. 🐶🤍🐱

A huge thank you to All Fur Paws for the wonderful work they do for the animals in our neighborhood, and to everyone who contributed to making this drive a success!

Congratulations to Our Graduate, Sam! 🎓

Sam proudly walked across the stage to receive his high school diploma! Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, Sam marked this exciting milestone with smiles, well-deserved recognition, and a heartfelt graduation speech where he closed with, in his own words, “Thank you to everyone who helped me find my voice. I did it!”

Sam’s family was there to celebrate, along with his Home Manager Priscilla, who was honored to share in the day.

Graduating from high school is a major accomplishment, and we could not be more proud of Sam. We cannot wait to see what comes next! 📚
