Swift Physical Therapy

Swift Physical Therapy swiftwellnessok.com Season has been trained in Manual Therapy techniques for over 17 years. Each person is unique and responds differently to treatment.

She performs a comprehensive examination of the musculoskeletal system (muscles, joints and fascia [connective tissue]) to see how the body is working as a whole. Injury, disease and/or surgical intervention affecting one part of the body can directly or indirectly affect another part. She looks at the body as a whole unit and works on compensations we have from past injuries, surgeries, etc. She

looks to treat the source of the issue; not patching the issue and waiting for it to arise again. The body is capable of compensating for long periods of times without symptoms. Problems begin when the body can no longer compensate and function efficiently. Season will screen your spine from base of head to sacrum to check for the area of greatest restriction. This will help her identify the key area that needs to be treated first. She uses gentle techniques to help your body re-align, such as muscular contractions and muscle balancing. After she adjusts that area, she’ll screen you again until all areas exhibit increased movement (no more hitch in your get-along). Some soreness may occur as the body adapts to the changes and increases mobility of the tissues. Additionally, this soreness may also be a result of increased circulation resulting in a detoxification process. Regardless of the result of the soreness, the discomfort usually resolves within 48 - 72 hours. Drinking plenty of water helps to decrease the soreness. In our experience, most patients receive a 50 - 70% improvement in at least some of their symptoms within 6 visits. We have found that initially a treatment frequency of once every 2 - 3 weeks is most beneficial, and then as the symptoms decrease, the frequency of visits also decreases. Usually the client notices changes in flexibility and/or symptoms within the first 1 - 2 treatments. Duration of relief will normally increase as the number of tight areas decrease. Remember every client's treatment will be individualized to meet specific needs in response to treatment. Manual Therapy can be used for prevention and wellness. When restrictions are removed from muscles and joints, it allows the body to function at a higher level. Then, more energy is freed up to respond to the environment and be used for work, play, and recreation. This gift of prevention can enhance sports performance, decrease degenerative changes, and optimize health potential. Wellness and prevention is not covered by insurance and is not related to injury or ailments. This care does not require a prescription.

This little one came in with full-body tension, restricted tongue movement, a weak suck, gas, and difficulty nursing. We looked at his entire body and found tension through the hips, neck, diaphragm, rib cage, cranium and entire fascial system - they all affect how efficiently a baby feeds.

After just 20 minutes of gentle manual therapy, we saw a remarkable change. The tongue gained more midline range of motion, the suck became stronger and more coordinated and you could literally watch the tension melt away.

Babies aren't supposed to struggle this hard, but unfortunately it happens. When we restore mobility and reduce tension throughout the body, feeding often becomes easier, more efficient, and more comfortable for both baby and momma💜

Toe and foot cramps can absolutely be related to dehydration or mineral imbalances, but they can also come from fascial restrictions in the feet, ankles, or anywhere else up the chain. Decreased mobility, weak intrinsic foot muscles, poor lymphatic flow, and even pelvic tension can all contribute to those annoying cramps and charlie horses.

Using this therapy ball from Tune Up Fitness (linked in our shop) provides gentle stretching, mobility, and fascial release from the toes upward through the entire chain. Pair it with intrinsic foot strengthening and lymphatic work to really support long-term relief instead of just chasing symptoms.

We don’t chase pain. We assess each body for its unique restrictions and treat accordingly. Just because your shoulder has limited range of motion doesn’t mean the shoulder is the root cause.

In this case, years of restricted pelvic and abdominal fascia from surgery, limited diaphragmatic breathing, and cranial sutural restrictions were all contributing. Those patterns can affect the nervous system and limit proper cranial nerve input to the neck and shoulder, ultimately impacting movement and function.

The feet are your body’s foundation and feedback system at the same time.

When the feet become restricted from injuries, tight shoes, lack of toe movement, ankle sprains or poor mechanics, the brain receives altered input. The body then starts compensating upward to maintain balance and stability.

That compensation can show up in a multitude of ways:

Knee pain
Hip tightness
Pelvic rotation
Low back tension
Neck and jaw restriction
Balance issues
Even visual strain and dizziness

The nervous system's priority is keeping you upright and safe, even if it means creating compensation patterns elsewhere in the body.

Healthy feet aren’t just about walking better. They influence how your entire body organizes movement.

Make sure you're taking care of them and your therapist is touching them! 🐾👣

People often ask if I have tried this tool, or heard about that tool...Probably have...

I've tried the gadgets, the supplements, the "miracle fixes" - bc years of chronic pain made me determined to understand the body from every angle and figure out how to help myself and others.

Some have really helped!
Some are totally over hyped
Some are in the trash🤷🏽‍♀️

Honestly, manual therapy has been the biggest blessing and game changer for me, but the right tools can absolutely support healing, recovery, mobility, nervous system regulation, and daily maintenance when used appropriately.

Everything I've tried and found value in (so you don't have to throw your money away, too), is linked on my website at swiftwellnessok.com-shop

It's that time of year - vertigo and dizziness after a cruise or fishing trip. I got to join the club after a snorkeling trip in the Caribbean.

Thankfully I was soon symptom free because I know our vestibular system lives in the temporal bone - it houses the inner ear. That's where the structures responsible for balance and spatial awareness are located.

On the water, your eyes constantly track movement while your vestibular system tries to stabilize your body. If the temporal bones are restricted, the brain may struggle to process motion and visual changes efficiently. That mismatch can contribute to dizziness, nausea, vertigo, headaches, or nervous system overload.

The temporal bone can also lose normal motion from trauma, tension, birth compression, concussions, dental work, stress patterns, or whiplash - it can alter how the inner ear drains and functions.

Restrictions through the sphenoid and occiput can also create torsion and tension patterns through the dura and cranial base. When these tissues lose mobility, fluid and venous drainage may become less efficient, which can contribute to pressure, dizziness, brain fog, headaches, visual changes, and vertigo symptoms.

The nervous system depends on healthy motion, decompression, and circulation. Sometimes vertigo isn’t just the vestibular system itself… but either way, we can help you adapt through cranial work.
