Chemical and Microbiological Stability of Extemporaneous Cardiovascular Suspensions Compounded in Dual Suspending Vehicle System

This study evaluated five cardiovascular oral suspensions - clopidogrel, hydrochlorothiazide, nifedipine, propranolol, and spironolactone - compounded in Flavor Sweet SF/Flavor Plus (1:1). Hydrochlorothiazide, nifedipine, propranolol, and spironolactone all maintained 90-110% label claim under both room temperature and refrigerated conditions for 90 days. Clopidogrel met stability criteria only under refrigeration.

Compounders now have validated beyond-use date data for five commonly needed cardiovascular oral suspensions supporting safe pediatric and geriatric compounding.

Calculations: Albuterol Sulfate and Ipratropium Bromide Inhalation Solution and Hank's Balanced Salt Solution

This article works through formula enlargement, USP content limits, ratio strength, and osmolarity calculations for two formulations: an albuterol sulfate and ipratropium bromide preservative-free inhalation solution (850 vials at 3 mL each with 5% overfill), and Hank's Balanced Salt Solution (6 L batch).

Development and Optimization of Antioxidant Poly Herbal Peel-off Mask Using DOE Based Approach

This peer-reviewed formulative study used Central Composite Design (DOE) to optimize a polyherbal antioxidant peel-off mask incorporating Tulsi, Moringa, and Fenugreek extracts. The optimized formulation showed promising in vitro antioxidant activity and favorable physical characteristics.

Chemical and Microbiological Stability of Benazepril, Candesartan, Disulfiram, Fluconazole, Methocarbamol, and Pentoxifylline in SyrSpend SF PH4

This study evaluated six oral liquid formulations compounded in SyrSpend SF PH4 suspending vehicle. Researchers established scientifically justified beyond-use dates (BUDs) using validated stability-indicating UHPLC methods. All formulations met preservative efficacy criteria, and results showed API-specific stability profiles with several maintaining 90-110% of label claim for up to 90 days.

Compounders now have validated stability data and justified BUDs for six commonly compounded oral liquids in SyrSpend SF PH4.
