The stand is open today!

The smell of the flowers this weekend is unmatched! I’ve packed them pretty heavy with various herbs from the herb garden.

In each vase you’ll find a mix of holy basil, white sage, garden sage, peppermint, chocolate mint, lemon balm, lemon verbena, lavender greens, yarrow, calendula, and some of our flowers for color! ❤️❤️❤️

I usually keep a vase of these in our bathrooms, laundry room, and kitchen throughout late summer and fall.

This weekend we have paste tomatoes, yellow slicers, and all of our herbal remedies available as well as the boy’s new suckers: Apple and Cinnamon Apple!

Suckers are located in the cooler due to the heat.

We also will have a pause on raspberries, as they have literally been melting off the canes from the heat. 🫠

There is an empty spot where comfrey balm should be in the video, have no fear, it has since been restocked!

The boys decided to try something new and use an add-in with their suckers!

🍂 Because you can’t have fall (which we’re daydreaming of) without a bit of cinnamon, they would like to introduce Cinnamon Apple Lollipops!

I have to say, they turned out delicious.

🍭 We now have Apple and Cinnamon Lollipops available at the stand. They’re located in the cooler due to the insane heat we’ve been having.

I will be making elderberry syrup Friday morning!

My elderberry syrup is made with aronia berries, elderberries, cloves, Ceylon cinnamon, ginger, rosehips, lemon, filtered water and raw local honey.

Would you have spotted these in the woods?

They’re a beautiful sight to see! (Some variations have a pink hue)

Often mistaken for mushrooms, this is actually a rare plant that requires specific conditions to grow!

Monotropa uniflora, commonly known as the Indian pipe or ghost pipe, is a rare, waxy-white perennial plant that lacks chlorophyll and gets its energy by parasitizing fungi connected to trees. It does not use photosynthesis to create energy, but taps into the natural symbiotic relationship of mycorrhizal fungi to specific trees to survive. It can take years to decades for a single patch to start producing noticeable flowers and only after the specific conditions are met.

This is a controversial medicinal plant that shouldn’t be used and never foraged from an inexperienced person and without guidance from an experienced herbalist. Both for safety and for longevity of the plant itself.

Apple season seems to be coming on a little early!

What are your favorite Apple centered recipes?

We have been so blessed over the years with friends who allow us to pick apples and pears from their trees.

Cinnamon apple fruit leather, homemade apple sauce and juice, freeze dried apple slices are a favorite around here. I do hope to can apple pie filling this year as well!

Our orchard looked promising this spring, but dropped most of the fruit in June and the rest during the heat waves this summer. Hoping next year we will have more success!
