Word of the Week: ACTION

Two things happened this week that I want to share.

One — my daughter Maya's graduation party is this Saturday. And nothing creates action faster than a deadline. We've been grinding on our backyard for weeks — but this week everything shifted. Saturday is coming whether we're ready or not.

Two — I finally had my colonoscopy last Friday.

I had been putting it off for years.

Fear of bad news kept me away. I knew I needed it. I have a history of gut issues. And in the back of my mind I've always worried about colon cancer. But instead of rushing to get screened — I avoided it.

Until I finally took action.

All clear. No polyps. No problems.

The relief I felt walking out — I didn't even realize how much weight I had been carrying until it was gone.

Here's what I know now:

The thing you're most afraid to find out about is often the most important thing to know.

Avoiding a health screening doesn't make the problem go away. It just means you find out later — when there's less time to act.

There is something on your list right now that you've been putting off.

A screening. An appointment. A habit. A conversation.

What is it going to take for you to take action?

Don't wait as long as I did.

Drop it in the comments — what have you been putting off? 👇

Word of the Week: BOUNDARIES

Summer is here. Kids are out of school. And the routine just got a lot harder to hold onto.

This week's word is not what you think.

Not boundaries with other people. Boundaries with yourself.

Here's the truth most people over 45 don't want to hear:

We are not as resilient as we once were.

When we were younger, we could eat poorly, sleep five hours, skip the gym for a week — and bounce back. The body forgave us quickly.

As we get older, the systems start to break down. Metabolism slows. Recovery takes longer. Inflammation builds faster. What used to roll off now sticks.

Summer is not the time to abandon your health. It is the time to know your limits.

How many late nights in a row before your body suffers?
How many off meals before your energy crashes?
How many skipped workouts before the momentum is gone?

The people who finish summer feeling great are not the ones who were perfect. They are the ones who knew their limits — and kept coming back to their baseline after the fun nights, the road trips, and the lazy mornings.

Set your boundaries. Protect your foundation.

What is your one non-negotiable daily habit this summer? Drop it in the comments.

Word of the Week: PRESENCE

Today is Memorial Day.

A day to pause. To remember. To honor the men and women who gave everything — their time, their youth, their lives — so that we could live ours.

To every veteran, every active service member, and every family who has lost someone in uniform — thank you. We remember you. We honor you. We are grateful.

---

Their sacrifice reminds us of something we all need to hear:

We are not guaranteed tomorrow.

Every day above ground is a gift. Every morning you open your eyes is an opportunity that someone else didn't get.

So this week — be present.

Put the phone down. Breathe deeply. Look the people you love in the eyes. Take care of your body like it matters.

Don't sleepwalk through the gift of another day.

It is so easy to get caught up in everything we should have done, could have done, need to do. The anxiety of tomorrow. The regret of yesterday.

Presence is the antidote.

And it starts simply — five slow breaths outside every morning before you look at your phone.

Try it this week. See what shifts.

---

I am grateful for this life. For this community. For every person who made it possible.

Happy Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Word of the Week: CELEBRATE

This is the season for it.

Graduations. End of school. Summer kicking off. Warm nights, lake days, travel, new chapters.

My daughter Maya graduates high school this Friday — and I am one proud dad.

Celebrate. Fully. Joyfully. Without guilt. You've earned it.

AND — don't let the celebrations quietly undo the work you've put in.

Here's what I see happen every summer:

One late night becomes a week of poor sleep. One off meal becomes two weeks off track. One skipped workout becomes a month away from the gym.

By August, a lot of people are wondering what happened.

So here's the balance:

Celebrate hard. Protect your daily rituals.

They are not in conflict. Your rituals are what make the celebrations better.

Sleep — get back on schedule the night after a late one.
Hydration — summer heat means MORE minerals and water, not less.
Nutrition — enjoy the parties. Anchor your day with one clean meal.
Movement — show up even if it's short. 20 minutes beats zero.

The best version of you this summer is the version that takes care of themselves.

What are you celebrating this season? Drop it in the comments.

Word of the Week: PRIORITY 💐

Happy Mother’s Day to every mom out there.

This one is for you.

Here’s something I’ve learned after decades of coaching:
When a mom gets healthy, everybody gets healthy.

No one has more influence over the health of those around them than a mom.

When you eat better, your family eats better. When you move daily, your kids see it. When you show up energized and well-rested, your whole world feels it.

Moms shape families. Families shape communities. Communities shape the world.

A healthy mom is a happy mom. And a happy mom changes everything.

And yet — moms are also the first to put themselves last.

I hear it all the time: “I need to get back to a time when I made myself a priority.”

So today, on Mother’s Day, I want to say this:
You are the glue that holds the world together. Taking care of yourself is not selfish — it is the most generous thing you can do for everyone you love.

Make yourself a priority. Not someday. Now.

You deserve it. 🌸

→ I’m offering free strategy sessions this week for moms who are ready to take that first step. Send me a message — let’s talk about what’s possible for you

Word of the Week: PREPARE 🌞

May is here. Summer is around the corner.

Graduation parties. Pool days. Lake trips. Camping. Travel. Less clothing. More living.

And somewhere on your calendar is a moment you want to show up for feeling your absolute best.

Here's the truth nobody wants to hear:

Summer bodies aren't built in June. They're built in May and the months prior.

The people who feel confident and energized at the pool, the beach, the lake — they didn't start last week. They made a decision and they prepared.

Preparation isn't a crash diet. It's not punishing yourself in the gym.

It's returning to the basics — consistently, daily, for 6 weeks:

Sleep more. Hydrate with minerals. Eat clean. Move every day.

That's it. Simple. But only if you actually start.

My daughter Maya graduates from high school this month — and we have a family trip to Cabo at the end of June. My preparation started months ago, but it will step up even more now. Not next month. Now.

What's your Cabo moment this summer? The trip, the event, the day you want to feel great?

Drop it in the comments 👇 — let's prepare together.

💗✨ Senior Prom! ✨💗

I don’t know how it happened, but this girl is all grown up. Maya, you looked absolutely stunning!

They took their prom photos at the rose garden in Sacramento - great scenery.

So proud of the young woman you’ve become. From the stage to the dance floor — you light up every room you walk into. ✨

Here’s to the final stretch of senior year — savoring every single moment!

🎭✨ THIS SUNDAY! The 2026 Sara Bareilles Awards are this weekend and we could not be more excited!

Our girl Maya and the entire cast of Chicago from Oak Ridge High School will be taking the stage at San Francisco’s iconic Orpheum Theatre — Sunday, May 3rd at 7 PM 🖤🗽

Just a heads up for anyone coming out — the cast won’t be performing the full show. Instead, each nominated school performs one number, competing against the top high school theatre programs from across Northern California. It is a true celebration of talent and these kids have worked so hard to get here!

We are beyond proud of Maya, Eli, and the entire cast. They brought something truly special to this production and they deserve every bit of this recognition. 💫

🎟️ Tickets are still available — $25 at us.atgtickets.com

Come cheer them on! 🎉

Word of the Week: SIMPLICITY ✨

Getting healthy and fit isn't complicated. We make it complicated.

Here's the framework I've built my entire coaching philosophy around — the 7 Daily Primal Needs, in order of importance:

1. Breathe
2. Hydrate (water + minerals)
3. Sleep
4. Eat (quality, digestion, balanced macros, high fiber veggies)
5. Love / Connect / Contribute
6. Grow
7. Move

Most of us obsess over #7 — workouts — while neglecting #1 through #4.

And on movement — let me be clear. The body is built to move. Sitting is the enemy. Stand more than you sit. Move more than you stand. Daily movement is one of the fastest ways to shift your emotional state — and when you change your state, you change your life.

But movement alone won't save you if you're sleeping 5 hours, skipping minerals, and eating on the run.

Improve the first 4 first. Everything else gets easier.

I created this framework. I teach it every day. I still struggle with #1 and #3 myself.

Keep. It. Simple. 🎯
