🩸 STOP THE BLEED — EVERY SECOND COUNTS! 🚑

Would you know what to do if someone near you suffered severe bleeding? In an emergency, your actions could save a life before first responders arrive.

🩹 Knowing how to STOP THE BLEED can make all the difference!

Here are three lifesaving steps to remember:

🔴 1. APPLY PRESSURE — Use your hands to apply firm, direct pressure to the wound.

🔴 2. PACK THE WOUND — If appropriate, pack a deep wound with gauze or hemostatic gauze and maintain firm pressure.

🔴 3. APPLY A TOURNIQUET — For life-threatening bleeding from an arm or leg, apply a tourniquet if available. Tighten it until the bleeding stops, and do not loosen or remove it.

📱 Call 911 and follow the dispatcher’s instructions. Continue providing care until help arrives.

❤️ You don’t have to be a medical professional to save a life. Learning these simple skills can help you be prepared when seconds matter most.

🚑 El Paso Emergency Squad encourages everyone to learn bleeding control and be ready to make a difference!

✅ Push at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute.
✅ Keep going until help arrives, an AED is ready to use, or the person shows signs of life.

🚜🌾FARM SAFETY: A LITTLE PREPARATION CAN SAVE A LIFE🚑

Fall is a busy time on the farm, and with the long days, heavy equipment, livestock and changing weather, accidents can happen in seconds.

👩🏼‍🌾 Keep your farm and family safe:

🥕 Keep children away from operating machinery and equipment.
🌽 Wear proper PPE when working with tools, chemicals and equipment.
🥔 Shut down machinery before attempting repairs or clearing jams.
🫜 Make sure tractors and equipment have working lights, alarms and safety guards.
🍅 Store chemicals and medications safely and properly labeled.
🥬 Keep first-aid supplies readily available.
🧄 Know your farm’s exact address and make sure emergency responders can easily access the property.
🌶️ Teach family members and employees how to call 911 and describe the location of an emergency.

🚨 In an emergency, every second counts. Know where you are, know your equipment and have a plan before an accident happens.

From all of us at El Paso Emergency Squad, stay safe in the fields, barns and everywhere in between 💙🚑

Work smart. Stay alert. Get home safe🌾
