Eating well shouldn’t feel like a luxury—and it definitely shouldn’t feel out of reach.

With grocery prices rising, I want to acknowledge something very real: for many people, “just eat healthier” can feel frustrating, unrealistic, or even dismissive. Food choices don’t happen in a vacuum—they’re shaped by time, energy, access, culture, and yes… cost.

As an integrative health coach, my approach is never about perfection or expensive trends. It’s about sustainability, flexibility, and meeting you where you are.

Here are a few grounded reminders:

• Healthy eating doesn’t require specialty foods. Frozen vegetables, canned beans, rice, oats, eggs, and seasonal produce are all nutrient-dense and often budget-friendly.
• Simple meals count. A balanced plate doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective.
• Small shifts matter. You don’t have to overhaul everything—start with what feels doable.
• Nourishment is not all-or-nothing. Some days will look different than others, and that’s okay.

Health is built over time, not in a single grocery trip.

And if cost has been a barrier for you, please know—you’re not alone, and support exists. I maintain connections with social workers and local resources, and I’m always willing to help point you in the right direction if you need additional support accessing food.

So let’s have a fun transparency moment. Healthcare runs in my family, with a retired cardiac care nurse for a mom and a dad who worked in Physical Therapy. I inherited a not so great trait, healthcare workers need healing too, and I was dragging my feet on it. Please come see this amazing lady, she’s kind considerate and thorough! 🧠 Polyvagal Theory, developed by Stephen Porges, explains how your body constantly scans for safety—and shifts into different states that impact your:

• Sleep quality

✨ There are 3 key states:

🔹 Ventral Vagal (Safe & Connected)
You feel calm, present, and able to rest.
➡️ This is where healing, recovery, and quality sleep happen.

🔹 Sympathetic (Fight or Flight)
You feel anxious, wired, overwhelmed.
➡️ Great for short bursts of stress… not for living there.

🔹 Dorsal Vagal (Shutdown/Freeze)

Feedback I often heard working as a CMA:
