A Complex Case Of Peripheral Artery Disease Treated at USA Vascular Center!
Argio’s story is one of those inspiring acts of patient care and treatments that happens everyday at USA Vascular Centers . Argio came to USA Vascular Centers to get treated for a severe case of Peripheral Artery Disease; a condition that has affected her mobility, and caused chronic ulcers on both her legs. Argio's treatment was highly complex as the doctors at USA Vascular Centers had to locate her affected artery through her foot, She received treatment from Dr. Sumeet Sachdev, one of our highly trained Cardio-Vascular and Vein Specialists at USA Vascular Centers. We interviewed Argio in the patient waiting room as her daughter filled her medical forms and one of the USA Vascular Centers nurses walked them through the whole process. Then Argio was taken to the preparation room, the nurses helped her get ready for the procedure. The procedure performed on Argio at USA Vascular Centers is called Atherectomy; a non-surgical and ultra sound guided procedure to treat the affected artery. Argio was the perfect candidate for Atherectomy as she had a plaque build up in one of her right arteries which caused poor blood circulation in her right leg , which caused chronic ulcers and problems from lack of mobility. The whole procedure took two hours after which Argio was taken to the recovery room where she would stay for another two hours. She woke up right after the intravenous anesthesia was removed and smiled for a picture with Dr. Sachdev.
