The Community Chess Board at Farley's Place has officially ended its first week of game one.♟️

We’ve started an informal “multi-person” chess game where each patient who comes to Farley's Place has the opportunity to contribute the next move as the game progresses.

Week 1

Move 1 (White): the owners dad opens with - d3
Move 2 (Black): an accounts receivable specialist responds with - Nc6
Move 2 (White): a hearing aid manufacturer representative plays - h3

Current position:

1. d3 Nc6
2. h3

What’s going to be fascinating about this is that each move is coming from a completely different background and perspective. There is no coordination, no shared strategy… just pure sequential decision-making.

It’s starting to feel like a collaborative puzzle where nobody knows the plan yet, but everyone is shaping it anyway.

I’m officially recording the moves and seeing what kind of quasi-strategic chaos unfolds.

I’ll be posting updates at the end of each week as the game continues. So follow along and lets see where this experience goes!♟️

Farley's Place is here for the entire Todd County community, not just Elkton!

Hanging out here in downtown Guthrie, Kentucky today participating with the community its the 250 anniversary celebration of the birth our nation! 🇺🇸

We've got the U. S. Army's 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Rock Band here helping freedom ring through out the city! 🦅

Now before ya'll come at me calling me the dB N**i or something of the like, this is meant to be educational not a complaint or criticism. 🫠

I took some decibel readings in different places around the areas while jaming out. 🔊

And these were my findings.

Awareness is the staple of safty.

At Farley's Place, we will be offering a variety of hearing protection options for all kinds of environments like hunting, shooting, yard work, concerts, etc.

We work with a lab that creates custom hearing protection with noise dampening filters specially designed for these kind of environments! 🎶

Protecting your hearing today is a lot cheaper than treating your hearing loss tomorrow. 🦻

Do you need Basic Life Support certification?

Do you have one and need to renew it? ⛑️

Looking for somewhere local offering these services? 🫨

Keep an eye out, because come July, Farley's Place will be hosting it's first BLS Certification class!

Adam Farley is a certified American Heart Association instructor and is excited to offer this service in addition to the hearing related services Farley's Place is quickly becoming known for.👂

The goal is to offer BLS classes 1-2 times a month. We are here to support the local community in preparation to save lives! ♥️

June 25th - July 1st is DeafBlind Awareness Week.

It has been found that roughly 160 million people through out the world live with deafblindness.

Some of these individuals still use sign language in a tactical way, holding each hands while signing.

Some Interpreters are even trained to interpret with the clients hands over theirs, bridging access to verbal communication.

While going through my Interpreter training, it was awesome to participate in the DeafBlind windsurfing group in the Nashville, TN area.

And June 29th - July 2nd.
