Have you ever found yourself asking,

“Why do I keep doing this?”

Maybe it’s over-giving.

Maybe it’s people-pleasing.

Maybe it’s always feeling responsible for everyone else.

Maybe it’s pushing through even when you’re exhausted.

As Black women, many of us learned ways of being that helped us navigate life, relationships, work, family expectations, and difficult circumstances.

These patterns often served a purpose.

They helped us cope.
They helped us survive.
They helped us get through.

But sometimes there comes a point when we begin to notice that what once protected us may now be contributing to our exhaustion, overwhelm, or disconnection from ourselves.

One of the things I love about flower essences is that they can help bring awareness to these patterns with gentleness and compassion.

Not so we can judge ourselves.

But so we can begin to choose differently.

This is one of the reasons I created Rooted & Resourced—a flower essence healing container for Black women navigating collective stress, overwhelm, and intense times.

What is one pattern you’ve become more aware of recently?

People often ask me, “What exactly do flower essences do?”

One of the biggest misconceptions about flower essences is that they’re supposed to make you feel different overnight.

Flower essences don’t force change.

They don’t suppress emotions or override what you’re feeling.

Instead, they gently support awareness.

They can help illuminate patterns, beliefs, emotions, and ways of being that may no longer be serving you.

Sometimes the first shift isn’t feeling better.

Sometimes it’s finally seeing something clearly.

Sometimes it’s recognizing a pattern you’ve been repeating for years.

Sometimes it’s realizing you’ve been carrying more than you thought.

From that awareness comes choice.
And from choice comes the possibility for transformation.

This is one of the reasons I’m so passionate about flower essences and why I created Rooted & Resourced, a flower essence healing container for Black women navigating collective stress, overwhelm, and intense times.

Have you ever had a moment when you suddenly saw an old pattern more clearly?

Lately, I’ve been craving more spaces that remind me I don’t always have to be in doing mode.

Being this past weekend I felt like an exhale for my nervous system. A reminder to slow down. To soften. To simply be.

As a Black woman, I’m learning that being is just as powerful as doing.

Not every moment has to be productive.
Not every pause has to be earned.
Not every season is meant for pushing.

Sometimes healing looks like beauty.
Like quiet moments.
Like reconnecting with nature.
Like giving yourself permission to breathe again

This is also part of why I created Rooted & Resourced — a flower essence experience for Black women who are ready to shift old patterns, reconnect with themselves, and move through life with more awareness, intention, and trust in their inner wisdom.

Because sometimes we don’t realize how much we’ve been pushing, over-functioning, disconnecting from ourselves, or moving on autopilot until we finally slow down long enough to notice.

Flower essences support subtle emotional and energetic shifts that help us become more aware of the patterns we’re ready to release… and the ways we want to return to ourselves 💚

If this resonates, you’re invited.⬆️

I attended the Baltimore Herb Festival this past weekend, I came across this beautiful flowering shrub/tree and immediately felt drawn to it.

Later, I looked it up and discovered it’s called Pride of Rochester — which stopped me in my tracks since Rochester is my hometown.

There was something about that moment that felt tender and meaningful. A reminder of how plants, flowers, and nature have a way of speaking to us, reflecting things back to us, and inviting us to pay attention.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how easy it is to move through life disconnected from ourselves, especially during intense and overwhelming times.

And yet moments like this remind me to slow down, notice, and stay open to the quiet ways healing and connection can appear.

So many of us Black women are carrying collective stress, emotional overwhelm, uncertainty, and exhaustion while still trying to keep going.

Rooted & Resourced was created as a gentle space to pause, soften, reflect, and receive support through flower essences, embodied practices, and community care.

This 4-month virtual container begins this summer.

The Summer 2026 cohort is now open. See ⬆️

Many people are unfamiliar with flower essences or wonder exactly what they are.

Flower essences are gentle vibrational plant remedies that support emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Traditionally made from flowers infused in water through sunlight, they are commonly taken as drops under the tongue, in water, in baths, or applied to pulse points as part of supportive self-care rituals.

As Black women, many of us have learned to push through stress, overwhelm, exhaustion, and collective intensity while disconnecting from our own need for softness, rest, emotional support, and deeper care.

Flower essences offer gentle energetic support that invites us to slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and remember the healing wisdom that exists within nature, within the body, and within ourselves.

This work is at the heart of the new Rooted & Resourced Summer 2026 Cohort for Black women.

Join me for a 60-minute presentation that I am giving to the Spirit Seed community, the flower essence school where I am currently completing my flower essence certification.

The gathering is open to others outside of the community as well, and I would love for you to attend.

Together, we’ll explore how flower essences can support us during these intense and emotionally charged times, especially as heart-centered entrepreneurs, leaders, and women holding space for others while also tending to ourselves.

We’ll explore specific flower essences that can support:
presence and grounding
clarity and inner knowing
emotional overwhelm and nervous system support
heart-centered leadership and authenticity

This is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and remember that your presence is medicine.

It’s been such a delight holding space for my Nourish community these past several days as we move through a 10-day cleanse together.

And no… it’s not about restriction.
It’s not about punishment.
It’s not about trying to “fix” ourselves.

Especially in this season, spring is a natural time of release.

A time to gently clear out what’s no longer serving us…
physically, mentally, and spiritually.

And that gets to look like nourishment.

Colorful meals.
Foods that support the body.
Moments to slow down and actually receive what we’re giving ourselves.

This is what cleansing looks like in my world.

Not depletion…
but deep nourishment

If you’ve been craving a softer, more supportive way to reset
this is the work we’re doing inside Nourish.
