Let's talk about what IC/BPS actually feels like because too many people spend years being dismissed before they get real answers.

Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome isn't just "a sensitive bladder." It's persistent pelvic pain, urgency that won't wait, frequent trips to the bathroom (including all night long), and pain that can show up during intimacy, too.

Symptoms look different for everyone, and they can flare and ease unpredictably. That unpredictability is part of what makes IC/BPS so hard to live with and so hard for others to understand.

If any of this sounds familiar, you're not overreacting, and you're not alone. Talk to a healthcare provider, and know that support is out there.

The hardest part of IC/BPS isn't always the pain itself; it's getting someone to believe you.

There's no single test for Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome. That means a diagnosis can take months, sometimes years, of appointments, tests, and being told: "It's probably just a UTI."

Symptoms often overlap with other conditions, which means the path to answers is rarely straight. And for too long, IC/BPS patients have had to fight for basic understanding and validation from doctors, from loved ones, from themselves.

If you're in the middle of that search for answers: your pain is real, and you deserve to be believed.
