Wonderful gathering of Expressive Arts Therapists

Hello!!! We are proud to announce the date of our 2019 IEATA Conference. Its in the spring this time. And we are back in the US just outside San Francisco! We are excited to announce the theme of the conference "Rise Up! The Evolution and Revolution of Expressive Arts." Stay tuned for details!!

Group Art Therapy
Beginning April 12th

The California Center for Creative Renewal has been leading both women's and coed groups for over 30 years. These groups meet once a week for 10-week sessions and provide creative renewal for adults confronting the struggles of living in our stress-filled world.

Day of Mindfulness with Christie Turner, Suzen Lieberman, and Ellen Speert

Friday, April 13, 2018
9:00 - 3:00pm
Location: 1905 Crest Drive, Encinitas, 92024

Join us for a day of meditation and mandala making, of body awareness and deep inner stillness. Christie will give dharma talks on the spring season as well as guided meditations both sitting and walking.

This will be a day of renewal to raise money for the Tibetan monks who will be arriving May 7th. All proceeds go to making their sand mandala at the Unitarian Fellowship in Solana Beach. More on that in the next newsletter.

To register, send a check of $50 made out to Ellen Speert and send to: 1905 Crest Dr., Encinitas, CA 92024. This is limited to the first 30 people to register.

Art Meditations in Nature

Please join us in celebrating our deep connection with the natural world through walking the labyrinth, making mandalas and creating earth art to enhance harmony in our lives.

In the afternoon, join Andres (www.andresamadorarts.com) in creating ephemeral art on the beach, sending forth our prayers and washing away our blocks to the incoming tide.

This workshop will begin at the Center for Creative Renewal but will end at the beach. (Location will be sent to you when you register.) Andres’ workshops are very popular and space is limited.

The show of my sculptures is now up at Encinitas City Hall, 505 South Vulcan Ave 92024.
In March the whole show will move to the Encinitas Community Center with a reception on March 17 from 1:00-4:00 PM. Alyce Smith Cooper will be giving a spoken word performance of the myth which the sculptures embody.
Please join us then.

The first opens at City Hall on January 24 and runs through March 7.

The show then moves to the Encinitas Community Center and runs through May 2.

What better way to share your experiences and passions than a personal painting, whether from your far away travels or very local wanderings in nearby natural surroundings.

We’ll explore the art of small image making in the garden with watercolors, and ink, on postcard sized paper. Join us for a day of impressions in watercolor. Nature will be our inspiration and observation will be our guide.

Materials that will be provided include: watercolors, brushes, ink pens, and watercolor post cards.
