It was an honor and privilege to be a part of this community poetry project. You can find my contribution on page 24 titled
“Landscape of my Heart.”
This piece expresses a reconnection to my biological family during a visit to Texas in 2023, where I found a deep healing and acceptance of my family as I met them where they are, while holding my own firm boundaries.
It has been a long journey to heal from the wounds of the past that originated from my birthplace…but with deep inner work, I have found a place of acceptance.
We are all healing in our own way.

For a looong time I shied away from videos, but I’m honoring my body and how it shows up for me now, not when I loose 40…50lbs…AND I’m not really caring about what anyone thinks these days. After a long recovery from gallbladder issues and then surgery, a knee/IT band injury last year, and my own body image limiting beliefs…I’m back to flow and the gym.
Here’s a little flow I created in the moment…
I intentionally left it without music playing in the background…just a body moving and breathing.
