It’s noisy out there. 🙄⁣

Everyone seems to have an opinion about what you should be doing, how you should be healing, what you should be eating, and what’s best for your life.⁣

Some of that advice may be helpful and some not so much.⁣

What I’ve learned is that the more disconnected we become from ourselves, the easier it is to hand over our trust to everyone else.⁣

The HUG it Out® way isn’t about getting rid of outside influences. It’s about learning how to stay connected to yourself, even when a tornado of advice is swirling around you they’re swirling around you. 🌪️ ⁣

🧠 Your nervous system is constantly gathering information. Your thoughts are constantly telling stories. The better relationship you build with both, the easier it becomes to recognize what feels aligned and what doesn’t.⁣

🙌 That’s resilience in motion. ⁣

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁, 𝗛𝗨𝗚 𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝘁! ⁣

👉 What’s one piece of advice you’ve turned down in order to listen to yourself? 👇 ⁣

HUGS & high fives! Hil⁣

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood! 🚎 ⁣

💛 When it comes to kindness, his teachings have had a global impact for more than 60 years. And if you grew up watching Mr. Rogers as I did, you may have felt it too.⁣

💛 So, when I was asked to share the HUG it Out® framework at the Fred Rogers Conference in July, it felt like a nod from the world’s most treasured neighbor.⁣

💛 On July 9th, I’ll be presenting “𝗛𝗨𝗚 𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝘁: 𝗔 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗢𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲” at the Fred Rogers Conference in Fred Rogers’ hometown.⁣

Join me and many others at the Fred Rogers Institute for two days of insightful sessions, inspiring stories, and meaningful connections. ⁣

The conference offers a valuable opportunity for professional development and to connect with others who are passionate about supporting children and the adults who care for them.⁣

What would you do? ⁣😳

We have a choice how we want to show up in this world. But don’t confuse kindness with boundaries. ⁣

If you’re a people pleaser, this may hit hard. But know this, being kind can include self. In fact, it better! ⁣

Choosing to HUG it Out with yourself means you give yourself permission to step into the discomfort of saying no to others while unapologetically say yes to yourself. ⁣

You’re still a good person. You’re still thoughtful and kind. You just know you deserve a seat at the table too. ⁣

👉 Have you experienced a situation like this? Share how you stepped into your power and chose to HUG it Out with yourself. ⁣

HUGS! Hil ⁣

What light will you remember?🫡

For those observing Memorial Day and honoring those who served and sacrificed, I encourage you to take a moment to think of all the luminaries whose lives were cut short and the stories they would tell.

I’m resharing a piece I wrote last year after a visit to the Fredericksburg National Cemetery. I hope you take a moment to pause and read.

Want to read the full article, leave a comment and I’ll share it with you in York DMs.

Your self-talk is more powerful than you think. 🧠✨⁣

I was talking about this with at , and we kept coming back to one thing: the conversations we have with ourselves shape everything.⁣

Neuroscience shows that the words you repeat to yourself influence your confidence, stress levels, emotional resilience, and even how your nervous system responds under pressure. ⁣

Negative self-talk can activate the brain’s threat response, while compassionate, supportive language helps strengthen neural pathways connected to emotional well-being, confidence, and nervous system regulation.⁣

That’s why 𝗧.𝗛.𝗜.𝗡.𝗞. is one of the tools I use in the 𝙃𝙐𝙂 𝙞𝙩 𝙊𝙪𝙩® Method to help people become kinder to their minds and more aware of the stories they’re repeating. ⁣

Before you speak to yourself or someone else, pause and ask:⁣

👉 Is it True?⁣
👉 Is it Helpful?⁣
👉 Is it Inspiring?⁣
👉 Is it Necessary?⁣
👉 Is it Kind?⁣

✨ Because when you use T.H.I.N.K., you’re not just changing words. You’re reshaping patterns, supporting mental wellness, and choosing to HUG it Out with yourself.⁣

The way you talk to you matters most. 💛⁣

Double-tap if you’re working on healthier self-talk, and save this for the next time negative thoughts try to take the mic. 🎤⁣

What are you carrying right now?⁣

We’re consuming more heartbreak, crisis, and emotional overload than ever before. And while empathy connects us, constantly absorbing the pain of others can deeply impact our nervous systems, our mental health, and our ability to feel grounded.⁣

I recently wrote an article for City Lifestyle Magazine about the impact of secondary traumatic stress, what it is and what you can do right now to support your emotional well-being.⁣

🧠 This isn’t just about burnout. It’s about what happens when the brain and body stay stuck in survival mode from continuous exposure to stress, suffering, and overwhelm.⁣

🧠 Your nervous system needs you. Your brain deserves partnership and relationship in recovery, not just resilience⁣

The world may feel heavy, but compassion for others has to include compassion for self. That’s the HUG it Out way.⁣

To read the full digital article and my 10 ways to be kind to your mind, drop the word STRESS below and I’ll send it your way. 💛⁣

HUGS Hil⁣
