Everyone calls it cold and flu season… but take a look at what else happens this time of year.
Halloween candy. Pumpkin spice everything. Thanksgiving desserts. Holiday cookies. Sweet drinks. Treats at the office.
From October through December, sugar and ultra-processed foods tend to become a much bigger part of the average diet — often at the same time we’re sleeping less, stressing more, traveling more, and spending more time indoors.
And all of those things matter when we talk about immune resilience.
High amounts of added sugar can contribute to blood-sugar swings, inflammation, poorer metabolic health, and displacement of the nutrients your immune system actually needs.
Does that mean you can never eat a piece of Halloween candy or enjoy Thanksgiving pie? Of course not.
It means support the terrain.
🔹Prioritize protein and whole foods
🔹Stay hydrated and replenish minerals
🔹Protect your sleep
🔹Get outside and move your body
🔹Support nervous-system regulation
🔹Use supportive therapies like red light and sauna when appropriate
Enjoy the season. Enjoy the pie.
Just don’t let sugar season become your everyday diet.
Your immune system needs resources to do its job.
