One of our favorite tools is these sensory distractors, the "spikey balls!" They work really well to distract your mind from the sensations of labor, just squeeze hard with a contraction!

We also love the TENS unit and when that's not enough - it's usually time to move to the tub and have a baby!

Sweet baby Chandler celebrated his 0th birthday on May 5th with a beautiful daytime birth! His name means "candle maker," which I think is a beautiful way of honoring his daytime birth and the light that he's going to bring into this world!

While I'm in the final months of Physician Associate/Assistant school, I continue to remain on call and care for repeat clients of Foothills Midwifery. During an overnight Emergency Room shift, I received a call at 3:00 a.m. from this sweet family letting me know it was time to head to the birth center.

She's the kind of laboring mother who quietly goes deep into her own rhythm, so focused and calm that we hardly realized how close her baby was to being born. What a beautiful gift it is to be invited into these sacred moments. I am so proud to know this family and grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside them on their journey. I love them dearly! 💛

Welcome, little Avery!

Avery means "ruler of the elves."

Avery was the first baby in her family and was another one of our clients who had co-managed care - prenatal and postpartum care with us with a hospital birth!
