We had a wonderful time hosting the tamale party. It was filled with laughter, learning and community connection with each other.

One of the highlights we saw from the class was hearing people share how their families grew up making tamales and the different ways each person learned how to make them. From different recipes and folding techniques to stories passed down from their sayaa’s, ko oe’s, and yiya’s. Every family brought something to the table.

It was amazing to see how food can bring people together while honoring culture, tradition and family memories. Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared stories and helped make this class a meaningful experience.

Good afternoon everyone,

The diabetes program will be having multiple What Can I Eat cooking demonstrations as well as talks about what healthy food options you can make for your family.

The 1st class is today May 11th starting at 5:30.

We will also have 3 more this month.

May 13th
May 18th
May 20th.
These classes will be held at the Wellness Center starting at 5:30.

Good Evening Ohkay Owingeh Community!

We are preparing for the community meeting on May 9, 2026. Community Health Program is releasing a survey to get a better understanding of the community needs and their use. We understand that not everyone can attend the community meeting. We value everyone's input and want you have access to the survey. All the information collected from the survey will be confidential and anonymous. The survey will help us prepare resources, education, collaborations and events for our community. At the end of the survey there is an option to leave your name and contact information if you would like to be contacted by our office or have resource needs. The survey will close on May 15th at 11:59pm. Thank you in advance for your participation. We hope to see you at the Community Meeting on May 9th, 2026 at the Ohkay Casino Conference Center 9am.
