Being healthy is not just about eating well and exercising.
Yes, those are important. Yes, we need to invest in both, in some way, shape and form that fits our lifestyle and our needs.
But they’re not the whole enchilada.
Health is community. Your environment. Your support system. Your comfort zone… and the steps outside it. Health is longevity. It’s forward-looking and present-minded.
Health is your family and your hobbies, the kindness you show yourself and others. How you respond to stress and the time you invest in caring for your mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing (whatever that looks like for you).
Health is joy. It is laughter and love and sadness and hope. It’s contentment and it’s also not settling.
Health is time spent in nature. In the present. Health is caring for yourself and caring for others. It’s putting your own oxygen mask on while teaching the ones you love how to do the same.
Health is science. It’s doing your research and learning new things and asking questions and seeking out information.
Health is advocating for yourself. Finding professionals and experts who will help you do that and more.
