Newborns communicate hunger long before they cry. Learning your baby’s feeding cues can help make breastfeeding feel less stressful and more connected 🤍

Early cues like rooting, hand-to-mouth movements, and lip smacking are baby’s gentle way of saying “I’m ready to eat.” Responding early can often lead to calmer, more effective feeds.

Crying is actually a late hunger cue and a baby who is very upset may need comfort before latching.

Every baby is different, and over time you’ll begin to recognize your own baby’s unique signals ✨

Long-term breastfeeding success is rarely about doing everything perfectly. It’s usually built through support, education, patience, and having encouragement during the hard moments.

Mothers deserve care too. Rest matters. Nourishment matters. Asking for help matters. And learning your baby takes time.

Some days breastfeeding feels simple, and other days it can feel overwhelming. Both experiences are normal. What often makes the biggest difference is having support and realistic expectations through every stage.

Every feeding journey will look different, and success should never be measured by perfection. 🤍

Skin-to-skin contact helps regulate baby’s temperature, heart rate, breathing, and blood sugar while also supporting bonding and breastfeeding success.

It can:
• Encourage feeding cues
• Help increase milk supply
• Calm both baby and parent
• Support better latch and feeding outcomes

And it’s not just for immediately after birth skin-to-skin is beneficial for weeks and months postpartum too.

Even a few quiet minutes can make a difference. 🤍

Breastfeeding in public for the first time can feel SO intimidating 🤱🫣

You might wonder:
“What if people stare?”
“What if my baby cries?”
“What if I can’t get them latched?”

But here’s the truth: your baby deserves to eat wherever they are. 🤍

Breastfeeding in public is protected, normal, and something many moms slowly build confidence doing over time. And honestly? The first time is usually the hardest part.

A few things that can help ease the nerves 👇

✨ Practice at home first
✨ Wear clothes you feel comfortable feeding in
✨ Start somewhere you feel safe or supported
✨ Remember: most people are paying far less attention than you think

And most importantly feed your baby with confidence.

Nursing in public isn’t something you need to hide away for. It’s simply meeting your baby’s needs.

Breastfeeding is more than milk 🤱

Yes, breastmilk provides perfect nutrition but that’s only part of the story.

Breastfeeding also supports your baby’s development in ways you can’t measure in ounces 👇

✨ Comfort
Your baby nurses not just for hunger, but for safety and reassurance.

✨ Regulation
Being at the breast helps regulate your baby’s heart rate, temperature, and stress levels.

✨ Bonding
Skin-to-skin contact releases oxytocin (the “love hormone”) for both mom and baby.

✨ Brain development
The closeness, eye contact, and interaction all support your baby’s growing brain.

✨ Emotional security
Breastfeeding helps your baby feel safe, connected, and understood.

So if your baby wants to nurse often…
If they fall asleep at the breast…
If they just want comfort…

That’s not a bad habit..that’s biology. 🤍

Breastfeeding is nourishment for the body AND the nervous system.

And you’re doing more than you think.

“Is my baby getting enough milk?” 🤱

If you’ve asked yourself this you are not alone. This is one of the biggest concerns for new moms.

The truth? You can’t see how many ounces your baby is getting at the breast… but your baby’s body gives you signs 👇

✨ 6+ wet diapers a day
✨ Regular poops (especially in the early weeks)
✨ You hear swallowing during feeds
✨ Baby seems satisfied after most feeds
✨ Steady weight gain

These are all reassuring signs that your baby is getting what they need.

But here’s the important part:
You should NEVER have to sit at home and wonder or stress about it.

If you feel unsure, overwhelmed, or something just doesn’t feel right trust that instinct. 🤍

Lactation support can give you clarity, confidence, and peace of mind.

✨ In-home visits
✨ Insurance-covered support
✨ Here for you every step of the way

You and your baby are learning together and you don’t have to do it alone.
