It is inspiring to read all of the comments from the previous posts. Petition:

We, the undersigned, call on the Village of Estero to preserve Happehatchee and its surrounding lands as a protected green space, historic landscape, and community sanctuary. Specifically, we urge the Village to:

Preserve Happehatchee as a largely undeveloped subtropical forest

Protect surrounding lands that contribute to its natural, historic, and cultural setting..

Reject development or land-use changes that would damage the property's unique character and historical significance

Honor Ellen Peterson's legacy and her original preservation vision for the land.

Maintain passive uses such as nature access, reflection, environmental education, and community gathering.

Safeguard native vegetation, wildlife habitats, and historic features.

Provide full public transparency on any future plans or agreements affecting the entire property.

If you have a moment,

There is something ‘other-worldly’ about watching the sun slowly set and light the clouds with pastel colors while the crystal-clear turquoise water slowly rocks our boat. I Love the Keys!
