Friday was all about learning, growing, and becoming a stronger team at Benchmark Behavior Group! 💙🧩

We got back to the basics of ABA—covering functions of behavior, Discrete Trial Training (DTT), error correction, errorless learning, and most importantly, how to apply these principles consistently in therapy.

Our therapists were engaged, asked great questions, practiced together, and showed exactly why investing in our team means better therapy for our clients. Benchmark is better when our team gets better! 💙

And a BIG thank you to El Jalisco Mexican Grill for coming through with a last-minute catered lunch for our crew! 🌮🙌

🐾 Group Time Fun at Benchmark Behavior Group! 🐾

Today during group time, our learners had a wild time learning all about animals! 🦁🐮🐟✈️

Our activities focused on a variety of important skills, including:

🐄 Identifying animals and their sounds
✂️ Fine motor skills by “saving” our animals and cutting them out
🌎 Sorting skills by identifying whether animals belong on land, in the air, or in the water
👀 Attending in a small-group setting and participating with peers
🎶 Orienting and attending to a short video of Old MacDonald Had a Farm

We love turning learning opportunities into fun, hands-on experiences! 💙 Our learners worked hard while practicing communication, fine motor, social, and cognitive skills all through play. 🌟

Our learners had a great day working on a variety of important skills through fun and engaging activities! 😊

Today’s activities focused on:
🧠 Identifying emotions and building emotional awareness
👂 Listener responding skills by practicing understanding and responding to directions
➡️ Following directions and increasing independence
⏳ Waiting and turn-taking while engaging with peers and activities
💬 Manding for missing items to encourage functional communication and requesting
✂️ Fine motor skills through hands-on activities, including using scissors

We are so proud of the progress our learners continue to make each day! Every activity is an opportunity to build confidence, independence, and meaningful skills. 💙

Today was an exciting day at Benchmark Behavior Group! 🎉

One of our amazing clients reached a huge milestone by successfully matching objects together independently! 🧩✨ While this may seem like a small step to some, it’s a significant achievement that represents growth in learning, attention, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Every milestone—big or small—is worth celebrating because each one brings our clients closer to greater independence and confidence. We are so proud of the hard work, determination, and progress they continue to make every day!

🎨🌈 Learning Through Play at Benchmark Behavior Group! 🌈🎨

Our clients had a great time exploring colors and shapes during today’s fun color-mixing activity! Hands-on activities like these help make learning engaging while building important communication and social skills.

During today’s session, our learners practiced:
🖍️ Tacting (identifying) colors and shapes
🎨 Exploring color mixing through play
👂 Following instructions in a group setting
🤝 Tolerating peer proximity while learning alongside friends

Every activity is designed with purpose, helping our clients grow in communication, social interaction, and independence while having fun!

🍪 "Who took the cookie from the cookie jar?" 🍪

If you've ever heard those words echoing through our clinic, you already know the magic that follows. Let me tell you what we as BCBAs and RBTs see happening beneath that simple, joyful song.

For many of our children on the autism spectrum, vocal communication is one of the hardest-won skills there is. Some of our kiddos rarely use their voices at all. Every word is a mountain climbed. Every sound is a breakthrough.

So when those voices fill this clinic, no matter how imperfect, unique, wonderfully their own, it is nothing short of extraordinary. To some ears it might sound like a simple children's song. To us? It is the sound of progress. It is the sound of connection. It is the sound of *why we are here.*

In the face of every challenge, every storm, every moment of uncertainty in this field these are the moments that bring us back. Back to the mission. Back to the science. Back to the children who remind us, every single day, that what we do matters.

These voices ARE the beauty of ABA. And we are so proud to be here for every single one of them.

We had an incredible time attending the annual Lake Eufaula Boys & Girls Club Steak & Burger Dinner at the community center!

Michael, Tynisha, and Brittany truly enjoyed a night filled with great food, even better fellowship, and meaningful moments with our community. One of the highlights of the evening was hearing keynote speaker KD Hill share his powerful and inspiring testimony.

Events like this are a great reminder that it’s always about giving back, supporting our youth, and helping feed the future. We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to invest in the next generation. 💙
