📷 Moving out of Pain
I use Anatomy in Motion as developed by Gary Ward to evaluate each joint and area of your body to identify loss of mobility, or other changes that may contribute to pain patterns. Your current state is the result of a lifetime of adaptations to your environment, and to past traumas or injuries. We will use tailored movement to ge
ntly guide you towards alignment, and to encourage healing and prevent further injury. As part of your initial session, I will take a symptom and health history, then record your walk and posture. Once we have identified focus areas, I will ask you to try some corrective positions to find your center of balance and improve range of motion. I typically use foam wedges placed under your feet to assist your body to achieve desired full end range. I will ask you to spend a few minutes each day with a home program of 6-8 full repetitions of each movement done slowly and thoughtfully, to your fullest extent, checking for areas of asymmetry, restriction, or other sensations. Please pay particular attention to changes as you continue using AIM. A mirror can help give visual cues that you are achieving and maintaining your position. Depending on your body’s response and your own goals, I recommend returning periodically for follow up. This allows me to adjust your homework to continue meeting your needs.
