This Disability Pride month marks the 36th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26th, 1990. The HEDCO Clinic is proud to provide support to those with disabilities and their families.

The most recent version of the Disability Pride flag, created by Ann Magill represents unity and resistance amongst the disability community worldwide. Each color on the flag has represents a unique aspect of disability:

Red represents individuals with physical disabilities.

Gold (Yellow) represents individuals with cognitive and intellectual disabilities.

White represents those with disabilities that are not immediately visible to others
Green represents individuals with sensory disabilities.

Blue represents people with psychiatric or mental health disabilities.

The charcoal gray background of the disability pride flag represents mourning of those who have passed away due to systemic ableism. It also symbolizes the protests that work towards disability justice.
