We are getting so excited for our Trunk or Treat & Resource Fair coming up on October 28 from 6 pm to 8 pm in the Our Community Birth Center parking lot.

It's a fun and safe space to take your little ones trick or treating, as well as learn about some great organizations for parents, including: Parenting Now, United Way of Lane County, Lane County WIC, Early Childhood Hub of Lane County, Early Childhood CARES, Team Duckling: UO Psychology, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Head Start, Empowered Lactation, Every Kid Pediatric Dentistry, and Awesome Possum Pediatrics.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our free Nursing at the Park groups this summer! With the weather changing, it is time to move our free group offerings indoors. Please stay tuned as we will soon be announcing a new day, time, and location for a free drop-in group! We continue to be available for lactation home visits. This week’s Nursing at the Park is on Friday 9/18 from 10am-12pm at Maurie Jacob’s Park, near the playground! Come get free lactation support, meet our providers, connect with other families, and build community! We’ve really enjoyed these gatherings this summer, and are hoping to soon be able to announce a free indoor group offering with the changing weather!

To celebrate Lactation Month, we wanted to share an old photo from each of us nursing our babies over the past several years! Everyone at Empowered Lactation has valuable lived experience to draw on, in addition to extensive education and training. Here’s to our all our babies and all lactating folks providing human milk! It’s powerful and meaningful work. Happy Lactation Month! August is almost over but we never stop celebrating lactation and every person’s unique feeding journey.
