I’q is the wind & moon, its transformation & transmutation.

The nahual I’q has the ability to assist us in changing our lives with the movement of ollin.

Whatever feels heavy or that you've been holding onto, allow this trecenas winds to gently move and pull the old emotions, thoughts, or patterns from your corazoncito.

Iq' begins a new trecena, thus a time to transform bad habits & let go of ancestral patterns, realse all the critical thoughts to begin a new day.

Giving thanks to the trecena of 1 Toj which guided these past 13 days that we've been in ceremony and offline.

May we be able to find gratitude, just as the nahual toj teaches us and remember the abundance we each have, weather it he physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Feliz Luna nueva ✨🌑✨ con eclipse . Agostos new moon took place today Wednesday 12th, peaking in darkness este mañana at 10:46am.

In the glorious Chol'Qij Mayan Calendar we have the nahual 7 IQ 🌬️

This represents the wind, our first breath, and connects us to the hummingbird and moon.

It is the transformation found in change, the movement we look for throughout our lives.

IQ is the nahual that helps us to move old emotional winds, to release los aires trapped in nuestre coyunturas.

In the tonalpohualli according to the Alfonso caso correlation we have the day 7 eh'ecatl 🌬️

Also the wind and movement, also a day of communication.

May this new moon eclipse magnify the transformation you are seeking in your life, showing you clearly how you need to change.

Tonight Circulo de Cantos, Faqua, y Pipas ✨🌕✨

Co-ed Evening of Ceremony under the light of the moon. 

The night starts off with our monthly Song Circle, dedicated to learning los cantos for Ilhuicatl Metzli Mihtotia / Where the Sky meets the Water Moondance. 

Afterwards we make our sacred Faqua beverage for Sunday's Womxn’s temazcal.

Faqua es una chicha de maiz / A sacred fermented corn beverage with an indigenous lineage from Columbia. 

Finally as danzantes de luna we raise our obsidian chanupas in prayer as we share our chanupitas en rezo.

Cantos Circle, Faqua Corn Ritual, & Full Moon Pipe Ceremony

Friday, July 31st, 2026

6:00 PM  to 9:30 PM

Honoring the full moon each month by gathering in ceremony as we prepare for our annual dance ceremony under the moon, ilhuicaatl metzli mihtotia / where the sky meets the water moondance. 

The night of ceremony includes a song circle, making our sacred Faqua beverage for the following Sunday's Womxn’s temazcal, and a full moon chanupa / obsidian pipe ceremony.

We will gather at 6:00pm around huehuetl citalli to practice cantos sung during danza, 

then around 8pm go outside for a fire (outdoors if the weather is dry or indoors around the stove) to offer songs, to***co, and prayers as we make our chicha de maiz, 

and finally finish the night off lifting up our rezitos a nana metzli con nuestra chanupitas obsidianas. 

All danzantes welcome to bring any friends, children, or family 

+ any other local womxn interested in la ceremonia of moondance are also welcome to join.

Traditional Mayan Divination Ceremony that calls the Spirits. This is a Mayan prayer that uses the fire to communicate with the Ancestors.

Mayan Fire Ceremony is the English term, in Spanish it translates as Fuego Sagrada (sacred Fire) or Ceremonia Maya (Mayan Ceremony), yet its original language, K’iche Maya, it is Loq’laj Kotz’ij.

A Mayan fire ceremony is an ofrenda/offering to the spirits. Weather giving thanks or petitioning for an answered prayer, individuals come to honor their ancestors and pray to los nahaules.

The Ajq’ijab create a beautiful altar, a banquet, a feast for the spirits. Using no wood, they build the fire with candles and delicious sweets; such as copal, chocolate, to***co, sugar, and flowers.

Not currently offering limpias porque in the summer season I offer one on one Mayan fire ceremonies.

In this ceremony we call in the ancestors and spirits, while asking for prayers of healing in our lives. The offerings that we put into the fire, carry our prayers out to Creator.

Each ofrenda carries a different energy and intention & in return a rich banquet of energies are offered to Ahua.

At dawn in the glorious Chol'Qij Mayan Calendar we have started a new trecena 13 day cycle guided by the nahual 1 Aq’ab’al 🌄

Friday 24th of July

Aq’ab’al represents the duality of dawn & dusk or light & dark... Dual forces that live all around us, that are inside us.

It's both the darkness within that is spreading like a virus at this time, but it's also the light that will consistently win.

There is always light within the darkness and Aq'ab'al teaches us to look for that light, even when hope may feel at loss.

Our ancestors predicted these times we are in, they knew there would be great challenges ahead.

We are in shift of cycles and the years within the shifting are always testing.

Yet Aq'ab'al is asking us to look for the light, understand that both energies are part of us.

In fact darkness has often been misinterpreted as something negative, but within our ancestral medicine it's a dual force that will always be present.

In fact, darkness or the time of the night is linked to our moon, to the Feminine, to a time of rest and reflection.

Here we may truly understand ourselves.

Thus Aq'ab'al teaches us of that sacred balance ⚖️

It's a nahual of a new dawn, and with it guiding us into a new trecena / 13 day cycle may it help bring more understanding.

May all the struggles you are facing become more clear as you take time to reflect on what it had to teach you in order to make you grow.

The trecena t'zi was a difficult one for us & our home, many family members in the hospital & being tested with health.

Thus gladly welcoming clarity, understanding, and wisdom with this new trecena.
