Did you know healing continues well beyond the initial recovery phase?

During what’s called the remodeling phase, your body continues to adapt by reorganizing scar tissue and strengthening collagen fibers based on your movement patterns.

This is why ongoing care matters. Gentle scar release techniques, stretching, and functional movement can help guide tissues to heal in a way that supports strength, flexibility, and comfort.

If you’re experiencing lingering tightness or discomfort after injury or surgery, schedule an appointment to support this next phase of healing.

Mother’s Day may have passed, but that doesn’t mean self-care should.

It’s easy to pour your energy into caring for others and put your own needs on the back burner. But your body still deserves attention, not just one day a year.

Small, consistent habits like taking a walk, stretching, or simply slowing down can make a meaningful difference over time. And if your body is still feeling the effects of pregnancy, daily demands, or increasing activity, it’s worth paying attention.

Pain, weakness, or incontinence may be common, but they are not something you have to live with.

If you’re experiencing bladder urgency, frequency, or leakage, it’s not always just about the pelvic floor muscles.

Certain foods and drinks can irritate the bladder and make symptoms worse. Common irritants include coffee, black tea, carbonated beverages, vinegar, pineapple, and citrus fruits.

You don’t necessarily have to eliminate these completely, but understanding how they affect your body can be helpful in managing symptoms.

If bladder issues are interfering with your day-to-day life, schedule an appointment and we can work together to improve your symptoms and overall bladder health.

If you’re getting back into running this spring, it’s important to build gradually. 🏃‍♀️

Your core, hips, and pelvic floor all play a role in supporting your body during running. Jumping back in too quickly can increase your risk of pain or injury.

Start with shorter distances, consider walk/run intervals, and incorporate strength or cross-training.

If you’d like guidance on returning to running safely and effectively, schedule an appointment and I’d be happy to help you create a plan.

There’s a lot of pressure to “bounce back” after your 6-week postpartum visit.

But the truth is, your body is beautiful in healing. Your core and pelvic floor may still be recovering, and nursing hormones can affect the strength of your muscles and ligaments, increasing your risk of injury.

Taking the time to rebuild your foundation is not a setback. It’s what allows you to return to higher levels of exercise safely and confidently.
