What does successful collaboration look like?

Sometimes, it looks like 10 MSW students, 21 outreach clinics, 6 locations—and a $1 million investment in the future of our communities.

Recently, we celebrated the kickoff of the Good Samaritan–USI Rural & Underserved Outreach Collaborative.

🏢 2 Evansville locations

Through an initial five-year, $1 million investment, Good Samaritan is helping equip our innovative partners in the USI Social Work Department to build the mental health workforce pipeline while expanding access to social services in communities across Southwest Indiana.

❤️ Thank you, Rev. Michael!

As Rev. Michael Erwin concludes his service with the Good Samaritan, we celebrate his leadership and faithful commitment to our organization.

From serving on Good Samaritan Home's Board of Directors to becoming Chaplain and Gifts Coordinator in 2021, and later the newly formed Foundation's first Executive Director in 2023, Rev. Michael guided Good Samaritan through an extraordinary period of transition with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering dedication. More importantly, he has made countless people feel seen, valued, and supported along the way.

We are deeply grateful for his service and wish Michael every blessing as he begins this next chapter, returning to his home state of Georgia. Thank you, Rev. Michael, for all you have given to Good Samaritan and the people of the Tri-State!

🏘️SW Indiana/NW Kentucky - let's keep the momentum going...

Good Sam will again be accepting proposals for affordable housing solutuions from Jul 1 - Aug 12, 2026 to award another $500,000 in Nov.

The first Affordable Housing Grants are ensuring 66 rental units and houses remain affordable, quality, and energy efficient for area residents, and wrap around and housing navigation services are available to help tenants have safe, stable occupancy.

🎉The grant awards have been presented - but we're still celebrating the impact these nonprofits will make.

These organizations are leveraging Good Sam's funding to make 61 rental units and 5 homes for ownership affordable, high quality, and energy efficient. Our region is lucky to have their passion and drive to help everyone have a safe place to call home. Great work!

🎉On Tuesday, May 26th, Good Sam awarded $542,600 in the first ever Affordable Housing Grant Cycle. The impacts of this first cohort will primarily be felt in the city of Evansville and we were honored to have Mayor Stephanie Terry joining the celebration. Mayor Terry commended grantees' efforts to address "one of the biggest challenges facing Evansville and across the country."
